an old polo, with the tyres over pumped, skitish little sod, awesome fun around long sliding corners, sadly rusted apart

70's Fiat X1-9. The original Fisher-Price Ferrari. It would only do about 85 and you really had to flog it just to keep up with traffic, but the engine loved to rev and the handling was unbelievable.

Porsche 914 was also a wonderful slow car. The 944 OTOH just didn't feel right at anything under 85.

You didn't say how quickly we got to the posted speeds.

I like driving my 300ZXT at posted speeds, esp w/ T-Tops out and Alpine pumpin. Also very fun were - '95 RX7(TT), 350Z, 300ZXTT, EvoVIII, Z-28 SC'd. Haven't driven a Vette around enough to know.

I couldn't tell you, I've always driven 5-10 over the speed limit or more. I drive the speed I feel is safe, and thats always faster then what "the man" thinks.

73 Super Beetle... sweet to take turns at 30+ mph that I can barely take at 25 in other cars.

cars i've driven: 85 corolla, 90 mazda protege, 95 altima, 2000 and 2002 camry, 2002 accord, 2003 neon, 2003 stratus, 2001 CLK 430, 2004 altima, um and a few others i can't remember
the most fun was the 90 Protege! it felt sturdy, was comfortable, braked well, did under steer but not annoyingly, not the fastest pickup but easily hit 115mph in a stright line, record was 133 going downhill lol. I loved that car, sister totalled it =\

A near-mint condition '65 Chevrolet Corvair convertable, w/ manual transmission on a hot summer day in my youth. Actually, I was going to buy it, but the guy sold it right before I got back to him with my money. It would have been a stupid purchase for an 18 year old who didn't have the money to maintain an older car, but at the time I was in love with it. It had a red body with a white ragtop, and light brown leather interior.

<sigh>

If it was for sale today, 16 years later, I would still have a hard time resisting.

Focus for small car. Any large truck is normally fun to drive especially if it has a loud diesel.

My first car was an 89 Iroc-Z. It only had a 305 with an automatic, but it was still fun. I had that for a few years then sold it and just bought a 2000 Trans Am WS6 with the 6 speed manual. That car is something else, so much fun to drive even when not speeding.

I enjoy driving my 91 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 at posted speed limits as it won't go much over that...plus it is so loud( no muffler or Cat) and the 35" Super Swamper TSL's are very loud...I go deaf if I drive over 60

My 1986 300ZX turbo was fun to drive, and my current twin turbo Z is also a blast.

That sounds like something that could definitely keep you from speeding :)

My 93 Landcruiser is a fun car to drive. Couldn't really tell you why, except maybe that it has windows like a tourbus so you have great visibility. Other then that, it rides kinda rough, power is nothing special, handling is maybe a bit above average for that kind vehicle. But I enjoy driving it more then any other vehicle I've had.

My '76 dodge colt was a hoot also - like someone else said, it was like a go-kart with a real engine :p
