So, I ahve been out of the graphics card loop since I bought my 9800pro back in the day. I havent gamed for awhile, but Battlefield 2 is getting close! I just picked up an emachine 3000xp, sure is a step down from my 3200+ 2gig of ram beast I had. :( Needs some ram and such, but the onboard Geforce 4 mx just wont cut it!
Can't spend too much...
No more than $250. Including shipping.

6600 GT best bang for the buck. I have one myself and I love it. I can play any game just about as well as someone with a top of the line card.

6600GT if ur budget is around $150....now u can get the X800(vanilla) for $200 which would kick the GT ass. it even beats the 6800NU i think!

Isn't the 6800 vanilla around equal and sometimes less performing than the 6600GT?

Shame you cant go just a bit more then you could be in the X800XL range. $250 is a hard price to pick as you only really have two options.

The 6800 NU or the 6600 GT.

For the extra the X800XL is very much worth it if you can find a little bit more to add into it.

6600 GT. Go BFG if you can, they're an awesome brand. the 6600 GT performs a little bit better than the vanilla 6800, IIRC.

No BFG. Teh MSI is much better and has VIVO to boot.

Yeah do not buy a 6800 NU expecting it to unlock.

In fact count on it not to, you had about a 50% chance of unlocking one back when this first started. It appears to be even less now (Appears that is, not positive on this).

So if you do decide on a 6800 NU buy it because that is the card you want. If it unlocks it will be a nice bonus, but if you buy it expecting it to unlock you have a very good chance of being disappointed.

And some are claiming you can get a 6800 GT for $200 on Ebay? I think you mean 6600 GT or 6800 NU. If you are saying a 6800 GT then that would be the card to get for that price, but I seriously doubt you will find one for that cheap.

I still stand by my recomendation though, if you can step up to the X800XL it is a much better card than the 6800 NU or the 6600 GT. And much more future proof so you wont have to upgrade as soon next time.
