What card is needed to play WoW

What type of system? What's your budget? 30FPS@1280x1024 @ What settings? AA/AF? Max in game settings?

Laptop?

Small Form Factor PC? (i.e. Shuttle or Self-Built-microATX)

If SFF:
I think at this point it depends more on your budget. Anthing better then a 6600GT can handle WoW at 1280x1024. Any of the following mid range cards give you very good bang for your $$.
- 7600GS
- X1600 Pro/XT
- 7600GT
- X1900GT
- 7900GT

I would go for a 7600 or X1600 if you're getting a new laptop.
A 7600GT can be had for 150$ for desktops, and it performs very well in most games.

I play WoW with max in-game settings on my ABS Mayhem G4 (Asus mobo) with the Go6600. I also have 1GB of system ram. I use maximum screen res, and get 50-60 FPS (there's a game limitation that prevents FPS reporting > 60).

i'm sorry I guess I should have specified that I am wondering what kind of laptop would be needed ... medium settings is fine .. but it's gotta be a laptop

I ran WoW just fine with integrated graphics on a Fujitsu S6210 (pentium M) so I'm guessing any new intel integrated will be better. Just get whatever size of lappy fits your need. I'm either going for a Fujitsu Tablet this time (T4210) or a HP DV2000. Both are damned sexy 😉

30FPS minimum @ 1280x1024? I get those framerates with my old 9600pro and XP2200+ system...

My MacBookPro does about 30 FPS in Ogrimmar when running WoW in Windows without Overclock or "reClock" as some would call it.
When the X1600 gets clocked to the speed it runs at in other less thinner machines, I am almost all the time at the 60FPS vSync limit. Never dips below 45FPs.

EDIT: This is running the game at the native Res of the display 1440x900

So any laptop with an X1600 will do just fine.

What are the other stats on your MacBook Pro?

Fully playable on my D620 with intel integrated graphics... sure suprised me! It even looks halfway decent. Obviously not much eye candy on, but you get the idea... Mine is a T2500 core duo with 2 GB RAM.
