Dependability, handling, speed...in that order I suppose but I don't wanna give up one for the others

Here's some candidates...

Used S2000
Used RSX Type S
Used MR-Spyder
New Mazdaspeed Protege

And a couple dark horses

New 350z
Used Integra Type R...

350z > S2000> RSX Type-S would be my choices but I doubt you will get a 350z for MSRP and that is already $26K

how about a 2002 Nissan Maxima, that is probably a little over your budget but not way over like the Z

a 2001 Maxima i think would also be nice IMO the 2k3 ones look like ass in the back

you could also get an 2003 Accord Sedan/ Coupe they are pretty fast but they are over your budget also and dont come in Manual

those cars might be too big for you tho

I dont like small cars :D

there is always the Rice up your current RSX

Is the Altima worth a test drive?

Altima's are known for their crappy interiors IMO give them a couple more years and they will be great

I think if you are gonna go Nissan go with a 2001/2002 Maxima SE same price range an IMO superior than the current altima

i think the rear lights are just plain ugly

the 2000 - 2002 current Maximas are beautiful IMO but the 2003 just slaughtered it wit the ugly tail lights (I am talking only about SE models)

Get a 2001 Ford Contour SVT

That will cost you $14,000. You can buy an extended warranty for <$1000.

If you want a faster car and want to spend $20,000, buy a supercharger. You'll have a 294HP sports sedan and STILL have enough left over for a kick ass stereo.

Get an import. All the backwards upside down sun visor wearing kids seem to dig em.

If you like American steel:

2000 Lincoln LS (unfortunately only the V6 comes manual)
2000-2002 Chrysler 300M (autostick)

Then the good stuff:
2000-2002 Maxima SE (mchammer187 said it first)
1998-2000 A4 1.8T Quattro (Stage II or Stage III kits)
2001 TL-S (autostick)
2002 WRX (new exhaust)
Altima is worth a test drive but I concur that Nissan needs at least another year to smooth the rough edges. My fiance loves the look and the drive. I like the look not the drive (3.5SE/auto).

Unless you plan on winding it up to 9,000+ RPM's all the time, then an S2000 isn't really *that* much of a performer. It's quick, but around town, a turbocharged 4 cylinder, or modest 6 cylinder is going to feel faster.

Also, my boss had an S2000, but ditched it in favor of a Boxter S because the Honda was just a dud until you wound it up.

You're looking for low 20's & you're thinking about an S2000?

Good luck.

MSRP is around $33,000, & they're in high demand.

Hehehehe. When I first read your poster Viper I thought you were recommending a Viper GTS :D Althought I would recommend on I think they are a bit out of his price range. :p

How about an 1993 RX-7?(If you can find one.) I really like these cards but they are hard to find and would cost a lot to get worked on. (Rotary engine)
