What car should I buy?

Well here's been whats going on, I was going to buy a Honda CRX this summer BUT my mom said I can't get one. So now she says I can get whatever car I want for $8,000 what do you guys think I should get? I want it to be a sports car, reliable, and relativly new like '93+.

I was thinking maybe the Acura Integra? but I dunno...

go test drive a few cars, then decide what looks good on you.

hondas'acuras are a dime a dozen. you may soon find yourself rice'ing out your car to distinguish yourself.

check e bay's auto section, and traderonline to find cars in your price range.

keep in mind car insurance, before you buy something.

#1 rule - have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic. People don't usually sell cars until there is a reason. (ie worn out)

I just did a quick check of the Edmunds site and it looks like you could get a '94 to '95 Integra LS Hatchback in the price range you want.

What about a 240sx? I doubt I could find a 300zx for that much. Hmmm, well I might get lucky and find a good GSR you never know. I mean I can get the car whenever from now on it's just I want one kinda soon 😀 BUT if I don't find a good ond I will wait.

$8000 will get you a 96-97 Camaro Z28 that will blow the doors off any of those imports.

can you say.. 320 horsepower?

Missus: Umm NO!

RoadRuner: I will its still not going to be more than $2000.

Well I'm going to go and test drive cars tommorow I'll tell you guys what happens after that 🙂

Step away from those torque-less integras and get a 1st gen dsm.
2.0 liter turbo, awd, insane stop-light-launches 🙂

I dought your insurance will only be $1500 for anything period unless you just plan to get liability for your $8000 vehicle. Every car I had between the age of 16-24 cost me $1100-$1400 for non-sport cars just for liability.

Val - correct me if I'm wrong but the 96 still had the old LT1-285 hp engine, right? And if a '97 Z28 can be had for only $8k that has to tell you something about the build and workmanship of the car.

edit: Z28 has never come with 320 hp (except for the LS1 SS versions) 😛

2 seater? Is that the reason why you can't get the CRX?
94'+ Mazda Miata - No power, mad handles
92'+ Toyota MR2 Turbo - Lotsa power, okay handles

Would you consider a domestic??? You seem to be an import kind of person. $8000 can get you 94/95 Mustang GT. Their 302 engines are pretty bullet proof. Gas guzzling V8s are the only way to go! 😀
