what car is this?

i was in Mission Beach, CA and i saw this BMW. it looked like a coupe, and i think i saw it's label as being from the 3 series.. it was odd, because i have NEVER EVER seen a bmw that looked like a hatchback, and yet this one did. it was a 2 door, and it basically looked like a hatchback/coupe with not much as far as the traditional sedan back-end goes.. ideas?

I know someone that drives one. I joke that it is the BMW that you get when you simply *MUST* be able to tell your friends/family you drive a Bimmer but you can afford something higher on the scale.

Actually, I kinda like it, but for the price, I'd get a Mini

ahh it's very nice. are parts expensive? how's the engine? can you direct me to a specs sheet? as for repairs, are they as expensive as the other bimmers? do BMW dealers service these?

Them Bimmer's are booty.

Waaaay back I think it was Motor Trend that did a "shoot out" between it and a Integra GSR. The GSR was better in every category.

You'd think Mercedes would have noticed the 318ti flop before they came out with that nasty Hatchback-Benz.

I think AC Schnitzer put a M3 drivetrain into a 318ti. That's bad@ss since anyone in the know would laugh at you for driving a 318ti.
