What Car Audio Should I Get?

I'm currently looking for new sounds. So far I got my deck (panasonic color changing one). So now I need a amp, 2 sets of 4" mids, and a pair of subs. I was thinking along the lines of 2 MTX subs, a MTX amp, and 2 sets of Infinity Reference mids. Whatcha think? If not, post what you would get. Thanks!

Walmart is reasonable...at least they have Pioneer 🙂
Orion amps are one of the best around, but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

MTX is pretty good, as is kicker and those higher company's.
Make sure you're gettint at least 200watts RMS per channel to the subs, just so they hit [H]ard enough 🙂

The Infinity mids are a good choice, but try to find some Dynaaudio ones (huge voice coil's for the size)

"Whatcha think?"

I hope you and your annoying fvcking noise box take a long drive on a short pier!

Get either Polk DX, Polk MOMO, or Infinity Perfect subs. They are great. I'm getting a pair of 12" perfects myself.

I'd stay away from mtx...they've been having problems with their quality control lately. You already have regualr speakers right? References are good speakers. As for amps...check out esx, arc, or cadence. There are many quality amps out there. As for subs check out idq. They are excellent subs. The perfects mentioned before are excellent too.

hahah yakko... I think McIntosh might be a little out of his price range 😉 Infinity Reference's are nice, but I like their Kappa's more =D As for subs, Kicker Solobaric's are good for consumer level... and last I heard, Rockford Fostgate made pretty good amps... this was all in high school (3 years ago) so I might be a little out of it now 😉

What do u guys think about Blaupunkt .....mainly the Alaska cd player...Im thinking about buying one its the Digiceiver model. I want a cd player for my trooper. I dont want to spend alot and I can get this one from Crutchfield for 149.00 ...so are they any good anyone had any experience with these?

thx

bUnMaNGo,

I was waiting for someone to say that.

I say go with Boston Acuostics for mids and highs and Kicker competitions for subs. As for amps I have no real opinion unless you plan on going real high power or reference quality pick what you like.

I guess I might as well share what I have:

Alpine Tape Deck
Alpine 604 Changer (supports AINET tho i don't use the navigation)
Alpine 4 Channel Amp, 45 x 4 - model # 404?
Orion 225 HCCA Amp (red)

Boston Proseries 6.4 for the separates up front
Boston Rallys for the Rear Surround
1 JL 15W6 in a Sealed Box

The Alpine 4 channel amp powers the separates and rear fill and the orion powers the JL. This is all in an integra and I think it sounds GREAT. I think it might've been better if i went w/ 3 10W6's or 2 12W6's or even 2 12W3 D2's.

I personally really like Cerwin Vega speakers, and Cadence amps. I have also had a lot of bad experence with kicker amps, and will never buy from kicker again.

It depends on the type of sound you're looking for. I agree with benchiu as far as speakers go, stay away from mtx subs.

Rockford Fostgate made pretty good amps
They still do!!!!
