I've been 6'6" and shredded since 11th grade.

Rogo

Are you 6'6 and shredded in real life, or just on the internet?

Any pics?

I don't do them with dumbells.

I was able to do a 225 lb barbell 8x though (sitting down). I'm not sure why I have such an easy time with this one, people say that much weight should be hard. I'm not huge or anything, it just feels light.

I can't do them the way Koing does, though. My back has too much of an arch in it and bends under the weight.
Isn't that a function of core strength?

Probably, but I never lifted like that. I always used the shoulder press bench at the gym.

Hell, when I started squatting a few years ago, I could only properly squat 135 lbs. I could legpress a lot, but a proper squat is much harder. Koing does the real deep squats which are even harder than the conventional squats. Since I don't train to do them, my legs would probably just give out if I went that low.

Shoulder press bench? But your still using free weight and they aren't weights attached to a machine?

225lbs x 8reps is a F0CK load to military press standing without a machine and not using your legs! Even on a machine it is a lot but not nearly as strong.

Yes it is a funciton of keeping your body (abs and back) strong when pressing.

I just use a machine. I kept injuring my shoulder when I would get into heavy weights (being 53 the old shoulder joints aren't what they use to be) With the machine my max is 250 lbs 8 times. I'm sure it would be significantly less if I use dumbells but who cares, it's not how much you lift, it's how much you look like you can lift.

If you arch your back you're using more of the chest and back muscles.

LOLOL!

It's different when your 50yrs+. Your joints and your body aren't like what they use to be when you were 18. Hell guys at 24-27 complain about feeling old...

I'll Olympic lift for as long as I can :)

When I was going to the gym at school, I was doing 35-40lbs in each hand for dumbell shoulder presses using an inclined bench - 3 sets of 10 reps each. I'm only 19 - 140lbs, 5'11".

I honestly haven't the foggiest idea what you are going on about.
