Voting does crap, lets say by some nightmare for bushbots everywhere we would in effect have a dual monarchy for 24 years? Yeah, some choice.

Voting is your way to sending a msg.

Of what? voting for the lesser evil? that sucks. We need a none of the above so a party can boot crap canidates. A no confidence would be nice too for situations like the one we are in also.

I don't see how you could think voting would really works with this setup, look at the choice and how disinterested people are in voting already. Like what? Half of americans dont even bother for federal elections, thats sad.

In the end we all lose except lobbyists, corporations, and the greedy sleeze that make up the reps and dems who try to masquerade as public servants.

Corrupt pawns to big money is all they are, and not representative of the people, it's going to take a big housecleaning as our forefathers said there will need to be from time to time, a general strike or shutting it down through mass protests or a general strike cuts them off where it hurts, money.

Take a look at France. Do as they do. Millions of people hitting the streets to protest a law they disagree with. Then again, most nations arn't as proud as France.

If you dont like the politicians that are running, get involved and eventually move your way up and run.

Never going to happen, I am not rich enough nor corrupt enough to know the right people for DC.

You dont get that high in this country working for it, you are born into the right family that knows people.

What CAN we do when faced when such unilateral and exclusionary steps are taken by the government?

Simple.

Stop paying war taxes. War goes away.

Sure, if everyone quits their job there will be no war taxes paid. Good luck with that.

Who says you have to stop working?

It is simply called refusing to pay taxes.

Sounds to me like you have everthing figured out then, and most importantly the excuse to why your life sucks.

And why not? a lot of democratic countries have general strikes when something is wrong.

Cops and essential healthcare people stay working, everyone else shuts it down, the government would roll over like a kicked dog in a day or two. I betcha. Anyone know of a general strike that did not work?

It does not take much motivation to get people to just stay home, I don't know what is up with americans not doing it more often.

Imminent Domain, remember that? Almost everyone agrees that was lame, and we let it happen, what is sad is that someone could set up another reich here and americans would sit on their asses on and b1tch about who won the aryan idol show this week.

You really don't even need to go that far. Change your payroll exemptions so that you lose very little to automatic deductions, then refuse to file/pay come tax time. That way you keep your job and income (in fact it goes up substantially) while the government gets very little (ss/med/fica). If only a thousand people do it they'll likely be subpoenad, but if a million people do it they'll probably achieve change.

Snappy idea there PoW.....as a matter of fact, I believe I'll strongly recommend it to every agonized liberal I know.

LoL, you meen stop driving our gas guzzling H2's and give up the warmth and security that oil has given us over the years. Americans will not cease to pay "war" taxes because, we love to consume. I only see three outcomes for the American government as it stands now. 1.)The American government agrees to reform, at the peoples discretion. This is the least likely and most dangerous. The general American has no idea that he/she is being wronged everyday of their lives. They are also not aware of other types of government that are much much stronger. 2.)Upheaval. The American public revolts. This will cause mass panic and chaos. The government will enstate marshal law to try and regain control. This comes back to outcome 1. 3.)Americans go about there daily business, not questioning there enviornment, just "going with the flow". I wouldn't even consider the American public "sheep". If you hit a sheep, it will associate that with pain and the next time you try to strike it the sheep will move, or at least flinch. The American public comes scrambling back for another beating, it seems. Masochism for the masses.

Dude AVERAGE people can't just makes runs for these spots. Of all our recent presidents name the last one that made an average household income. If it was as easy as just running I'd have done it a decade ago. I put my name down on the ballot but no one votes for me cause I can't afford Attack Commercial spots slamming on some guy.

The rich are large and incharge and they have lost all touch with real life and why we get these dumb a$$ decisions we get now.
