been feelin lousy lately, dont know particulary why. sure there are lots of things wrong in my life, but thats life, so i dont think thats the cause. its not like major serious, so i dont think i need any perscription stuff. i heard of over the counter stuff like vitamin B complex? Does that work?

Saint Johns Wort is supposed to be a mild mood-lifter. It's all natural too, pills taste/smell nasty though.

Right now I'm on something called Modigen, its not strong like zoloft and you can get it without doctors perscription.

VitB is supposed to be a stress reliever. But the only way to successfully elevate yourself from depression is to find its cause.

i dont think its depression, i dont think it would persist. i just want something that can just bring me up temporarily. i heard of st john's wort, its common, but i didnt know it actually worked. vitb sounds good, ill checkout that medicine thats a tad weaker than zoloft. thnx

<< Exercise induces natural highs. Try jogging. >>

yea, i do that. actually, i go running regulary, about 2 miles every 2 days. and yea, it works. jogging does seem to work best. better than ball practice n all

if you are looking for something to bring you up temporaly then you are talking about dope 😉

what you could need to do is find what makes you feel this way and avoid it

no, no, i dont want to take dope. was basically lookign for something that could supress stress, checking to see if anyone actually took something that worked. i dont want to go out and buy some crap that doesnt do anything

<< How much sleep are you getting? How is your diet? >>

Enough sleep and a well-balanced diet also help you feel better. Try drinking juice instead of soda for a while, and have a salad with dinner.

There is also merit to those who tell you to find the source. Treating a brain tumor with pain meds will just mask the symptoms, not promote a cure.

got ya, thanks. ill try quitting the soda for a while, and yea, i need more sleep, 7 hours a day just wont cut it for an 8th grader. thnx, i never had any good eating habits either..

Why not see a therapist. There's stuff out there with lots of claims like St John's wort, but, unless you have a chemical imbalance that could be genetic in nature, my opinion is that most depression is related to environmental stress, something as simple as everybody faces just growing up, bringing up old feelings that have been long suppressed. I would say that depression really is suppression of feelings, the awakening of feelings that are taboo like, for one example, feeling anger toward some authority figure. That was a big no no. We have all been profoundly conditioned to do as somebody else says. Growing up is all about making our own decissions after years of being taught not to trust our own decissions. It's why people so easily become sheeple and look for some new or alternate old outside authority, the church, the state, a husband or wife, to make our decissions for us.

Anyway, if you find that things get worce, it might be worth finding out what you feel. In the mean time I can only say that there are no feelings that it's not ok to feel in a theraputic setting. We have been made to believe in a lie, that there is something wrong with us, that our feelings are unacceptable and we must not feel them. The relief that can come from decreasing the fear of our feelings is tremendous. Life is feeling and to suppress the negative is to suppress everything.

I wouldn't suggest ST Johns Wort, but the vitamins and good eating habbits are good ideas. Also you are getting at a stage where you need more sleep than you have or will need before or after this stage of development. Cut back on the sodas, drink water or juice.

If you think your issues are significant enough to require drugs DO NOT buy St. John's Wort (unless you are in the EU) go see your schools psychologist, local mental health, etc.

Most of the other suggestions good diet, sleep, exercise, multivit, avoid stressors are very good (cheap and effective).
