I have an old 433mhz Celeron at home which hosts a web server, ftp server, and a few other small things. One other good thing you can run is Proxomitron, which acts like a proxy and when you use the itnernet through that proxy, it will filter out all the ads. Its pretty good comapred to things like what Norton Personal Firewall offer i n terms of ad blocking but in this case, it will do all the processing and ad filtering so maybe that will lighten the load on your system or something...

You guys are funny.
You can do all the things now that you used to do with it when it was new.

Word Processing - For sure, it doesn't require 3GHz to do that.
Web development - For sure
MP3 encoding - For sure, not the fastest but it works.
Web surfing - ofcourse, I nef on a 500 Celeron
Photoshop - For sure, works fine to tweak pictures.
Listening to music - For sure, hook it up to your HiFi and play some MP3
Programming - Will run most compilers just fine. Perfect for VB, Delphi, Phyton, C++ and anything else.
Firewall - oh yes
pr0n - hehe yeah

Three words.

Old. School. Gaming.

...

Box. Ok, four.

I've got an old P166 with a genuine SB16 and a pair of Voodoo2s. Bring on the Doom and Descent! :D

Its not like everybody needs a super computer, I went from my T-bird 1200 (when it was relatively top of the line) to my PIII 700 laptop, and its just fine

Your comment and username both disturb me equally. Thank goodness for small mercies - if you had a sig, I might have had an aneurysm. :p
