Guys i have to do something about this delta fan that came with this MCX462, its like a 747 taking off. Can i put one of them voltage switch on it, would that be a good idea? Here's my rig, what ya think?

Samsung 900NF, lian-li pc-68 usb, Enermax 365p ve-fca, Asus A7N266-E, Onboard video(good enough)
Onboard sound(excellent), Amd 1800+, swiftech MCX462, Pioneer DVD-116, Plextor24/10/40
Maxtor D740x ATA-133 40gig, USR v92 PCI (backup for DSL), Crucial 512mb memory
Ms intellimouse 3.0, Ms Internet keyboard pro.(

instead of turning the delta down.... why not just put another fan on top... i feel the sound (i don't think it's that loud) but its a fair trade off for excellent cooling.... you could put maybe a nice 80mm panaflow on top... i'm not sure about the MCX462 and what size fan or how much cfm would cool sufficiently though....

Have to agree with punkrawket here. If you can fit an 80mm fan that would help you out a ton! I now have a 92mm fan on my HS and an 80 on my daughters and will never go back!

I agree with punkrawket and mofunk. A lower power 80mm fan will be much better. It's better to use a lower powered fan than to undervolt or use the 7v mod. Some fans don't like to start spinning on less than 8-9 volts (although it's rare) so it is better to use a "queit" fan like the Sunon or Panaflow at 12v if possible. The Swiftech is already a great heatsink, so unless you're really overclocking or overvolting your processor you can safely get away with a less powerful and noisy fan.
