Are there any other issues other than lcd response time that can cause ghosting?

ive tried 2 lcds, the second being a samsung 226bw and both seemed to have the issue. Id hate to return another one if its something in my machine.

BTW. Its a 4400x2 based machine with a 320 meg 8800gts

Only the monitor can cause the ghosting you're talking about. Make sure you're hooked up via DVI although VGA-induced ghosting is rare anyway. The 226BWs have been using different, slower panels lately so that may be a factor. The LG L226WT (or WTQ/WTX/WTY) is another option.
