What browser do you use in OSX?

You can do your own list, but it can't be added directly to a form box (like I believe you can with Firefox), you have to do it via URL.

Meaning you keep a list of urls in a file somewhere and Safari picks it up when it starts? That would be a deal breaker for me. I use adblock to get rid of almost anything that moves so I doubt any premade list would work and I need to be able to add things quickly.

It's kind of funny that opera has polled no votes at all. Not a sausage. ah heck all. I thought it was more popular around here. I keep it around for occasional usage but wow, is it ever slow starting up.

Has anyone else run into DNS issues with Firefox on OSX or just me?

As I stated in the OP, when using Firefox, web browsing just completely stalls randomly and the status bar shows 'Looking for xxxxx' while Safari works perfectly at the exact same time. Used app zapper to delete FF and all its preferences, reinstalled, same issue. Tried the beta, same issue.

Any ideas? I love the Safari speed, but i miss extensions.

i get them too...its random, but it happens.

Firefox (2.0.0.x) is proving to be really buggy for me lately. Also, when it comes to videos or some flash, it won't appear until the window is scrolled juuuust below where it's about to get out of view.

The flash issue is actually an issue with Adblock. Go into Adblock options and de-select the option for Flash, it should fix the problem.

Am i the only person who uses opera??? Opera for the win. I find it more reliable than firefox. Plus the download manager is super useful and typing "g" + google search term in the browser is so much beter than firefox's approach.

That is why I like the inquisitor plugin for Safari.

I can type Charlize Theron and hit enter, and it will be a google search
I can type Charlize Theron and hit Command+Shift+W and it will be Wikipedia
I can type Charlize Theron and hit Command+Shift+I and it will be IMDB

PLus I can customize more. Not quite as easy as putting an I or a W in front of the search terms, but close. And much better than Firefox's approach of having to click the little pull down menu to select your search engine.

I can type "w Charlize Theron" in the firefox address bar and go to her wikipedia article, or "imdb Charlize Theron" to go to imdb, or "rt ..." for rotten tomatoes or ...

It works the exact same as it does in Opera. I'm always surprised by how few people know this.

no it doesnt work exactly the same as in opera. When i type something in the firefox address bar it will take me to wahtever site it pleases and if it doesnt find a very good match it will take me to the google search site. I want to be directed to the google search site every time

Safari used to be my #1, but it has trouble with some of the sites I visit. So now use Firefox all the time could not be happier

Has anyone else noticed Opera installed on their system?

I have it installed on mine in a weird form but I NEVER installed it - this install of OS X is fresh. On the internet I read that Adobe Creative Suit installs it. If thats true that really stinks - I rally dont want Opera on my system but it would prolly mess up CS3 to take it off.

Yes, it does work the same. Firefox just has different pre-configured shortcuts. eg I think the keyword for google is the full 'google' by default, and wikipedia is 'wp'. You configure them just like regular shortcuts but you substitute '%s' for the replaceable part of a url and fill in the keyword field.
