Was originally a die-hard AGN'er, then started browsing the For Sale Forum several years ago, under a couple of different names (never could keep up with my names :))
Stayed here ever since AGN went down, the first time.

I'm from teh same town as Anand. THere was an article in my local paper about him. I was so blown away with his age, and how young he started it, and I just started coming after that. Took me a while to join the forums though.

A friend who's a SysAdmin wanted me to build an overclocked system for him with an aluminum case, GeForce 2 Ultra card, and a few other items I knew nothing about. He mentioned AnandTech.com. I began reading the reviews, the bi-monthly price guides on mb's, memory, video cards and cpus and finally ventued into H.D.'s. That was a year ago. What a difference AnandTech has made in my purchasing! Thanks everyone.

Yawp, I first came for the hot deals...but then the hot deals post would often get off topic so they'd talk about topical issues...and I wanted to respond but couldn't...then I found out there was a for sale forum where I could also get off topic...

And then, I realized there was a whole *forum* devoted to talking off topic...

And that's why I'm here today

For those of you who still travers through sysopt.com, is it true socalgal is no longer the mod?

In the thread where someone showed his mom how to use the digital camera I told how my mother wahcked my computer good one time. That's why I came here, to learn to fix it.

Back in 1998 when I first started learning how to repair/troubleshoot PC's, I was a regular at hardwarecentral.com. I found AnandTech shortly after. This place has taught me so much, and I am forever in debt.

Looking at Socket A mobo reviews in July/August of 2000, came upon AT, read some articles, them clicked on the forums button. Lurked until last January when some thread came up that I decided I wanted to post in.

Years ago i exclusively went to Tomshardware. One day back in 98 i did a search for hardware sites and Anandtech popped up. I went there and got hooked and have been a fan to the site ever since. Although i have learned alot from Tom's and Anands hardware sights, the forums here have taught me more than both of them combined. The people here are great and they are never boring

I was having problem with my system and finally I registered and asked the people on the tech. support forum. This forum is great. Just started to look into the ATOT a few months ago. Usually I look at GH and TS.

I was searching for general hardware info and found this place. I've been silently reading the posts for about a year; I wanted to sign up, but my hotmail e-mail wasn't allowed, so I waited until I got my college e-mail.

Ages ago, I was doing some basic research for my ED&G100 class back at Penn State. I hit a search on yahoo for the history of computers. (Yeah, a pretty wide and vague topic.) One of the links brought me to AnandTech. I first only read the news and reviews, but eventually, I started checking out the forums. (this was back in the UBB days) And I've pretty much stuck with it ever since.

I came over by way of Fatwallet to check out to check out the Hot Deals forum here from time to time & found the posts in OT interesting.
