AMD 233 mhz box with 64mb EDO Ram. I got it to work with only passive cooling so it's quiet (have an ultra-quiet case fan facing the cpu).

Linksys 4 ports router (BEFSR41)

Don't know why I got it... Oh yeah... It was on sale. Seems if you want to get some stupid program to work like an FTP or web server... Seems someone has already done and just wrote a big faq about how to do it... No stupid not with your dlink router... But the Linksys...

I had a Dlink 704. Just seems like I couldn't get it to route the packets the way it was suppose to and D-links support .... SSSSSUUUUCCCCKKKKKSSSSSS!!!!!!
Never E-mail Tech Support you'll get some chinese guy that never figured out what you were saying in english and give you some canned message like did you replace the cable? Then you write back and say... Yeah I tried that. Second response did you turn it off and on? You pretty much give up after that.

But, to be honest I really like my dlink it's built like a tank and never failed on me. The only reason I got the linksys was because support and documentation... But that is good and bad... Since hackers will probably run some sort of Script to hack in your linksys since a lot of phreaks use them... And... I got this because I had 20 bucks just burining a hole in my pocket. Hmmm 20 bucks to experiment with another router? Hell, I got another 3 months to waste... Why not right?

For those of you running software as a router what is the easiest to setup for a DSL PPPoE connection? I am running BBIagent right now and it seems to be working great but lmk if you have come across others. I have a linksys router and I just want to try something different in my spare time. Thanks to all that responded :)

Xsense Xrouter Pro MIH-130A. Did what I needed it to when I got it, but I've been very frustrated with it's port forwarding for a while now (limited to 10 ports, & NO range forwarding). It bites, and I'm short on cash :p
