Vic, I figure the Chinese make enough money on me from buying the things where I have no option BUT "Made in China"...Electronics and computer parts come to mind pretty quickly...I do my best NOT to buy any more MIC products than I have to.
Buy American when you can, or from a "free country" when American isn't an option, buy Chinese only as a last resort.

I only have 4 pairs of shoes:

Tommy Hillfigure (sp?): leather lowcut shoes that I wear everywhere from work, school, fun. Feel great and I can put them on really easily in the morning, almost as easy as sandals:).

Old Navy Checks (or whatever): feel ok, look cool with my jeans.

Airwalks: look really cool, but I effed up and bought one size too small. They kill my small toes after a bit of walking. Oh, and the brown dye comes off in rain:|.

Work boots minus steel toe: not that comfortable, bought the for motorcycle riding course. Wear them from time to time...

I have a decent collection of non-athletic shoes as well (about 20 pairs), all different brands.

LOL

I usually buy whatever is on sale.

Last month I visited the Nike Factory Store and got some awesome deals

New Balance. I have wide, very very flat feet. So I need to slip in some supports. Their Dunham brand is alright too. I have a pair of brown slip ons I love.. bought them as a clearance and pissed because they were clearance for being discontinued basically. I wanted a black pair, ha.

I wear the 926's walking shoes mostly. It's a hair too wide at my toe area, but oh so comfortable.

There are some ecco slip ons I like too, but at $130-$150 a pair before any arch supports, it's a bit much. I don't go out much anyway, heh

Nike Shox. Though the shox isn't good for tennis because it isn't low enough to the ground. Glad they came back with the old Nike Oscillates, oldies but besties
