What brand of CD do ya'llz use to burn? I use Verbatim DataLife but I recently noticed that the undersides have changed from dark blue to a greenish translucent color akin to the cheapie brands that don't work well with my car's cd player, thus making me think that Verbatim Datalife (from SAM's) has gone down in quality. Not sure if it really means anything though.

Whatever I buy. Not a single CDR has failed me yet, even the cheapest ones that go 10 pieces for $2. CDRWs are a different story, unfortunately.

Kodak used to be the bomb, but since they got out of the business I'd say FujiFilm.

I really don't see a difference except in burning speed but they've all worked great w/o problems for me. PNY, Imation, Memorex, Phillips, and probably some others

I use mostly memorex, but I think that the color is a good indication of quality.

I think they go smething like this (good to bad)
black
gold
silver
silver/blue
blue
green
purple

I like anything that is silver/blue or higher is good for me.

I notice the shtty ones have problems with CD player's that arent CD-r:
(shelf systems, boom boxes, componant Cd players, and car CD plyers)

also seems that they get scratched quicker with the lower quality one.

The crappy part is that you have to oen the package to find out what color they are.

I've had a bad experience with the black memorex ones. About half the CDs I burned from a pack of 20 didn't work.

I've never had any problems with the blue Verbatim ones I have and Memorex. Also had some "Cool Colors" ones (forgot brand) which were all sorts of funky colors and they worked fine too.

I use the really generic ones that CompUSA used to sell and have never had a problem, but they are often for audio or for transferring files that I have stored elsewhere already. However, I will admit that if the data is something really critical I go with TDK or Imation. I can't tell the difference but it makes me feel better.
