if you eat chocolate ice cream, what brand?

for me, its Breyers. i think all it has is milk, cocoa, sugar.

but if it's cheap enuf on sale, i'll buy that brand.
right now, i have Eddy's. Giant Foods is selling it 1.5quarts for $2.

(Grrr.. used to be 1/2 gallon. Marketing trick: Lower content and charge same price. unfortunately, it works and people dont notice.) :(

I'm not a fan of chocolate ice cream, but I like Ben and Jerrys for pretty much every flavor. If I liked chocolate, I'm sure I'd like theirs best. That's a bit pricey though. I'd say my bang/buck choice would be Breyers. I like all of their ice creams.

I go with what's on sale at the local grocery store.
Brands usually on sale:
- Store brand
- Hagen
- Turkey Hill

"Cost Cutting

Although promoting itself as a 'natural ice cream' in the past; like some of their competitors, many Breyers flavors have recently been reformulated with cheaper nontraditional ingredients. These changes include the addition of tara gum and replacement of real cream with skim milk. As these products now consist mainly of milk and skim milk rather than milk and cream they can no longer legally be called 'ice cream' and are instead labeled as 'frozen dairy dessert'."

Ugh, I hate chocolate ice cream. Vanilla, well really anything else like coffee, strawberry, or whatever, but especially vanilla FTMFW!

I don't generally get regular chocolate ice cream. Normally I just get whatever Ben and Jerry's flavor looks good. Light Phish Food is my standby, but if they don't have that I really like Imagine Whirled Peace and Chubby Hubby.

Well, it's not chocolate, but the only ice cream I prefer to buy is Kirkland's Premium Vanilla Ice Cream.

I'll have to compare prices next time I visit the grocery store, but you definitely get more for your money with Kirkland's ice cream ($7.99 for 2 half-gallon tubs), and it's much better. :)

Breyers All Natural Vanilla With Real Vanilla Bean Specks Ice Cream:
Milk, Cream, Sugar, Natural Flavor, Carob Bean Gum

Kirkland's Super Premium Vanilla Ice Cream:
Fresh Cream, Skim Milk, Sugar, Pasteurized Egg Yolks, Natural Vanilla, Carob Bean Gum and Guar Gum

EDIT: This is actually a better comparison to Kirkland's than above:

Breyers All Natural Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream:
Milk, Cream, Sugar, Corn Syrup, Egg Yolks, Natural Flavor, Salt, Guar Gum, Carob Bean Gum, Annatto (for Color).
