I've forgotten nearly everything except my high school stuff, but i would say geometry was the hardest for me.

I really do regret not continuing math... i always enjoyed the instant gratification from getting the right answer.

I haven't really had too much trouble with any math class itself. Maybe it's cuz my teacher basically tells you the answers to the test. That really prepares me well for college, let me tell ya.

I did hate logs and natural logs though. I didn't like geometry but that was because it was boring as hell.

I had a lot of college math way back when, and a lot more when I was studying physics. Still do some complicated programming, brush up on formulas every so often. No problem.

The part that still eludes me is simple arithmetic. I'm dead without a calculator.

I think geometry was the hardest, because you have to remember rule after rule after rule and theorems and postulates and all these other things that are the same damn things with different names, then you have to be able to apply them all when looking at a picture to prove that this line is the same as that line, and it still takes like 15 sequential statements to prove it. Ugh, that's a pain.

And I am taking the third semester of calculus at a community college, and I'm a senior in high school. I better to learn to love it cause I'm going to EECS at Berkeley.

Most definitely discrete mathematics. Too much fscking thinking to prove prove something like

(A -> B') v C <-> [C' -> (A' v B)] -> A ^ C

i have to say i'm really surprised at all the people saying discrete math.... imo, that's a lot easier and more fun than calculus. but i guess this just goes to show that everybody is different...

I'm only in my first real and I still have to take LOTS of math, but my experience so far:

HS Calc, Calc 1 & 2: easy. I haven't been to calc2 lectures at all this semester and I'm getting 79%.
Linear Algebra - I actually found it easy and quite interesting. Vector spaces, inner products etc all made a lot of sense. Nice course
Regular algebra - HS course in algebra was very easy and enjoyable.
Trig - identities are a pain to memorize, but its alright...
Geometry - I liked it, but didn't love it. It was ok.
Arithmetic - you're joking, right?
Discrete - I took an "intro to discreete" in HS - stuff like factorials, probability and such. I hated the material, so I didn't do as well as in Calc and Algebra. Gotta take a discrete math course in 3rd year, so we'll see how that goes...

I can't believe no one else said PDEs or BVPs. Has anyone here solved any Dirichlet-Neumann problems? Or solved Schroedinger's equation perhaps?

IMHO, DEs and BVPs as a whole are more complicated than Calculus because there is no set way to solve everything, you sort of have to hack your way through it using various tricks.

Raynor, I did mention PDE's hehe. Actually, discrete math isn't that difficult when you learn K-maps, but I'm learning that stuff just now for circuit minimization. Doh!

Calc would have been MUCH easier if i didnt have an incompetent professor

This is just a thread where everyone can brag about how advanced their math classes where :p

Calculus killed me hard-core.

But in retrospect it probably would have been easier if I tried to learn it..via the optional homework and what not..instead of just failing the tests and banking on a nice curve (got to calc 4 before I called in a major change).

If differential equations=calculus, then calculus.

But I consider diff eq to be harder than calc.

First Semester Calc was simple.
2nd Semester, different story.

I hate infinate series and differential eqs, blah.
