A huge book of Poe's works. I forget the exact title. It's some like The Complete Works of EAP.

I just finished reading a leather bound version of the Odyssey.

Thinking what to read next... maybe Arabian Nights... or maybe a collection of HP Lovecraft's works

I've been thinking about Arabian Nights also. I have a good while until I get there though.

'We Were Soldiers Once...and Young'

In November 1965, 450 U.S. soldiers were dropped into a small clearing in the Ia Drang Valley. They were surrounded by 2,000 North Vietnamese soldiers.

Three days later, a sister battalion engaged in a vicious fire-fight only two and half miles away.

Together, these actions at landing zones X-Ray and Albany constituted one of the most savage and significant battles of the Vietnam War.

It's fantastic and has the best inroduction and acknowledgements I've ever read.

Hmm, I saw that at B&M last time but didn't know if it was any good. I might pick it up.

You should. The author offers a money-back guarantee, though it may have expired by now. :D

It's well-written...but kind of insignificant if you ask me. A memoir by Eggers with a mildly interesting life up until that point (in that it isn't OMG kick-ass memoir material)

Friend of mine went to school with Eggers. I read her copy that was signed and personalized...she's not a huge fan.

Good writer though, he's gotten himself involved in all sorts of little projects.

Any recommendations for an 'OMG kick-ass memoir'? :)

Just finished Next by Michael Crichton. It was decent enough. Not sure what I'll read next, I'm usually into a little harder Science Fiction.
