Rough Medicine: Surgeons in the Age of Sail ... just started this book. Really interesting history.

Wider than the Sky: The Phenominal Gift of Consiousness ... finishing this up right now. Interesting way of learning how the mind works, and what researchers think consciousness is. Written by a Nobel Laureate.

I love books about mythology. :)

I just finished the Left Behind series a few weeks back. It was interesting. A bit too much scripture in the last one though.

I'm reading "The Sparrow" by Mary Doria Russell. I was too busy to get to the library this weekend so my wife picked it for me. It's about a Jesuit mission to a planet discovered near Alpha Centuri. It's actually similar to the Left Behind books in that it's really a fantasy with sincere religious undertones masquerading as sci-fi.

Excellent trilogy, loki8481, and nothing like the two recent films. If you ultimately read the new Bourne novel by Eric Van Lustbader, be prepared for a bit of a letdown. The author didn't do a great job of capturing the essence of the Bourne character. The story is good, it just didn't feel like Bourne. However, I doubt any author could handle Bourne as well as his creator.

I'm reading the Chronicles of Narnia (I never read it as a kid). I just finished The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Before that I read Animal Farm. And before that, Neverwhere by Neil Gaimen.
