It's been asked before but I can't find the thread.
New Blu-Ray player to arrive today.
What disk should rent for my first Blu-Ray experience?

Assuming you have a nice TV you might actually enjoy watching something like A Bug's Life. It is one of the highest rated for visuals.

Google AVS' blu-ray picture quality thread and pick something from their tier 0 list. I don't have the link with me atm. That said, the pixar movies are generally good. Wall-E is great. The Patriot is tier 0.

Speeling Nazees must dye!

And thanks for the link to the list.

I'm a terrible speller, by no means a "spelling Nazi"

I just have firefox to point out my errors.

eh btw, I only see two errors in the actual title.

Blu-ray is the correct capitalization and spelling (so "R" to "r"), and "disk" should be "disc".

What other errors is anyone spotting?

my coffee is slowly giving me my morning boost. stupid cold is holding my head hostage.

I pretty much type it differently every time.
Don't know why, but it's fun.

The Dark Knight is retarded how it switches from full screen in some scenes to non-full screen in others.

Anything from Pixar, really, but Wall-E is a huge standout. Baraka, Sin City, Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.

Dark Knight is overrated, but the IMAX scenes are pretty nice.

Those "full screen" scenes were the Imax scenes. Better some than none at all.

Iron Man has weirdly inconsistent picture between beginning and end. It's never bad by any means, but it starts out pretty grainy. Haven't seen Braveheart on Blu-ray, but I've heard it looks pretty good.

For Pixar, Ratatouille looks/sounds the best IMO, but Bug's Life is a close second
