Right now I have a checking account with Wells Fargo, as Ive had for the past 8 years. Recently Ive noticed them implementing a monthly POS fee of $1. I dont even use my card other than at THEIR atm's. Not much money but I dont think I was ever told about it. Im sick of all the stupid fees they add. Anyone recommend a new bank?

Credit Unions are the best because they don't have as large/as many fees. I prefer a locally owned bank over large corporate ones.

If you have over $1000, I recommend Bank of America.
They charge fees if you go below that; this is assuming you don't have Direct Deposit of your paycheck.
If you do, then you don't need the $1000 minimum.
The only fees I would worry about are ATM fees from using other ATMS or getting quick cash (not worth it to save 5 seconds at the ATM).

EDIT: This is for a checking account by the way.

I would go with a CU, but most of the year Im at school in San Luis Obispo, and the rest im down in OC. So I need a larger bank.
