With ticket prices well in the $60+ range here in Japan, I would be a fool to go to ANY concerts. :( I spend my money on CD's and DVD's instead.

Entity, just curious, have you added up how much money you've spent on gigs altogether? I would probably be to afraid to, in case I were to find out I could have gotten a nice car on the money by now...

Kate and I figure that between us, we've probably spent around $10k. It's a lot, but it's been worth it -- especially since we started at 16. ;)

Since I've been going to Concerts since I was 14 (1969) I've seen hundreds, way to many to list. Back in the 70's they use to have Days on the Green where 8 or 9 Headliners would appear on the same bill. I've must have been to a dozen of those. We also use to go to Winterland every Weekend for almost 10 years. Say what you want about Bill Graham but he knew how to put on a Concert for a great price with many electric and top flight groups. Now they ream you up the butt for Bands that are just so so with sh!t groups as supporting acts.

I've probably got a few years on ya, but we seem to have seen much the same.

Boston, Genesis, Fleetwood Mac, Lenegdary Shack Shakers, The Forty-Fives, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, The Who, Devo, Talking Heads, Sting, The Torch Marauder, Black Strap...

It's great to be living in a place like the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) and can fly down to stay with friends in Austin (damn, I missed the Austin City Limit weekend, though. :|)

EDIT: many of these wre complementary seats or backstages (friends work at radio stations). Also, ticket prices haven't really been that bad except for the past 10 years. I saw Aerosmith, festival seating, in 1982, for $10 (granted, they were in a hole by then). Also, a lot of these bands played in bars and not big arenas. Like Liz Phair.

Too long to type. But I'm going 80's this month and next. I'm seeing Stryper this month, and Duran Duran the next. I'm real excited about the Duran show!
