Sum 41,
Blink 182,
Story Of the Year,
New Found Glory,
Simple Plan,
Good Charlotte ...
[insert cookie cutter pseudo-punk rock band here].

Junk. I like all these bands when they were originally called Green Day.

haha youve got to be joking...they are one of the most successful bands ever and possibly the worlds most famous bands. Plus, they STILL have all of their original members. That is an incredible feat in todays world.

Zamfir sold millions of pan flute albums, too. Doesn't make his crap more listenable.

Anything ever released after 1995 is total trash and should be wiped off the records. Rock hits its peak in the early 90's with Metallica, Alice N Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Megadeth, Pantera, and a slew of other bands came out. Music has been total trash ever since they all broke up, killed themselves, overdosed, sobered up or sold their soul to the devil for commercialism.

We need more drug-addicted, drunk metal bands to come out because they always seem to write the good stuff. When they sober up they begin to suck.

I cant stand the trash that bands play today and that they call rock. I cant tell one band from the other as they all just copy each others sound and saound exactly the same. The one excption being Disturbed. They are our last hope.

That still doesn't make up for the fact that they suck.

BTW, I would give worlds most famous band title to the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, or Led Zeppelin. U2 isn't even close.

Blink 182's last album was not bad at all. this is coming from a person who hated them with a passion too...The last album, dare i say it, was good....

On a side note,

Oasis + soberness = awful records...

However,

Oasis + alcohol + drugs = Awsome - Be Here Now.

Here's my take:

Hoobastank - Horrible. They sounded like the crappy Incubus when they first came out, and unlike Incubus they don't have those good albums at the beginning of their career to fall back on.
Good Charlotte - I'm not going to waste my time explaining why they're bad. If you like them, it's because you don't know good music. Please stop buying albums and keeping these bands on the air.
Velvet Revolver - Overrated? They're not incredible, but I wouldn't say they're overrated. It's not a terrible album, and they're not regarded as "great" or anything.
50 Cent & Eminem - I shouldn't group them together, but I will. You all don't know rap. Stop critiquing something you people know nothing about. As for these two, you can complain about their material all you want, but they are the best two rappers out there right now. Plus, unlike dipsh1ts like Ja-Rule, they actually earned their places. They started with the "rap battles" and selling tapes out of the back of their cars kind of thing. They weren't just picked out by a producer because of their looks or voice. Again, as for talent, they both have that IN SPADES! I wanted to hate both of them when they came out, but I haven't heard anything that good since Tupac (I'm not comparing htem, just making note).
U2 - You can't say U2 because no matter how bad their current stuff is (and I agree that much of it is terrible), you can't discredit their past albums that were landmarks of their time. Albums like War, Joshua Tree, Rattle & Hum, and Achtung Baby are just too good.
All other bands named by Teabag - Yeah, they all suck.

WHOA!!!! I was kind of with you up until the end. First off, there is good rock out there, you just aren't hearing it. Secondly, dont' pin your hopes on Disturbed. I was absolutely AMAZED by how much I liked their albums, but I wouldn't say they're on the scale of those other bands you mentioned.

If you want good rock/alternative rock, here are some possible saviors:

Deftones - I know many of you will disagree with this one, but they are one of the more original bands out there. They have a sound completely all their own, and it's different with every album to some degree. And if one person in here says they're Nu Metal, I'm going to go over to your house and do unspeakable things to your pets. 😉 Chino sings on almost all of their songs, while Nu Metal is defined by the "rapping with rock background music."
The Sound and the Fury - Their "sound" (as far as instruments go) isn't THAT amazing, but the feeling that their singer puts behind them all tells you that they mean it. It's the important difference between trying to find lyrics to fit music (what most bands do nowadays) and singing about what you're passionate about/what's on your mind and fitting it to the music. There's a song they do called "Money" about a guy who's robbing people because he's broken down and tired of losing in life to rich people. Amazing song. Incredibly heartfelt, and the lyrics are just perfect.
Tool - They're still around, they're still doing their own thing, and they still rock like nobody's business. Every time one of their new albums come out I don't like it, then I listen to it over and over again and I realize that it's the best thing I've ever heard.
Quens of the Stone Age - Not only do they rock, but they do lots of drugs and drink A LOT, so you know it's just going to keep coming. Deep down, somewhere, I feel bad for encouraging a band to drink themselves to death so that I can get good music, but when I hear what they put out, I feel all better.
Radiohead - They're not "rock," but I wanted to put 5 in here because it's a better number. Oh yeah, and they're amazing. How many albums can they possibly put out that have AT MOST one song that's incredible? Down the line:

Pablo Honey - 1 bad song (Lurgee), the rest are stellar
the bends - perfect album, it don't get much better than this
OK Computer - perfect album... don't know why this was recognized and the bends wasn't
Kid A - very techno album (in his own words, "I don't care about harmony, just about rhythm), but very good. No one song I can say I skip when I listen to it
Amneziac - I haven't listened to this.. I just reazlied this fact, and I'm remedying this as I type
Hail to the Thief - if any album is better than the bends, it's this one

Again, not rock by any means, but incredible music regardless. Gives me hope for the future.
