Comeon people this is an easy one,... sell Washington DC and certain "inhabitants" for $1 and we will be fine in a year or two,.....

I wonder what the market value of Hawaii would be? I'm sure some OPEC nations could pool together a couple hundred billion and make an offer on it.

As wacky as Cali is, they have a LOT of industry and contribute a lot to the country's budget.

I say we sell the South to...whoever. They just cost money. Maybe we should sell them to Nigeria, that would be deliciously ironic.

We have plenty of mothballed military hardware to sell. Just need to kick-start another war.

We sell a lot of it. This has been standard practice for a long time.

Old Ships, Subs and Planes get sold to developing countries. Its not rare to see small countries navy's using the old river boats/destroyers we used in Vietnam.
And the troops weilding old M-16-A1's

But we need a real war not some tribal African conflict where neither side can afford anything more than a 40 year old jet. I thinking something like England and Norway.

The US probably wouldn't sell its own assets. Instead, the US would invade and conquer a weak country like Canada and then part of it off to the highest bidder.

You mean like the war in Sengala? Do you think the president should pull out and let the genocide happen?

Isn't that better than a high inflation rate and a reduction/loss of being an economic superpower?

Think about it.

I'm surprised we don't export rice like we do corn.

Alaska is not even close to worth that much. In fact, the whole of the US(excepting Manmade structures, but even then I highly doubt that figure) is worth that much. Just as a point of reference: Canada was valued at $30 Trillion just a few years back, based on the value of its' known Natural Resources and Canada has a hell of a lot more Natural Resources than Alaska.

Just the coal reserves in the usa have a current market value that exceeds 25 trillion dollars. Natural gas reserves, around 20 trillion.

We could greatly lower our debt by legalizing pot and taxing the hell out of it. A national lottery would be great as well.

For all our politicians' stupidity, they were smart enough to borrow in US dollars, so we can always repay the debt by just printing more money.

Wrong, they would just spend more as they take in more tax revenue.
