What are your X800 XT PE temps?

Mine idles at 41* and under full load after 4+ hours of farcry or HL2, it is hovering around 57-59*. Stock cooling, well ventilated case.
 
wow.. is that suppose to be the average heat?
thats very hot .. no wonder why they improved the cooling system in the X850

its not hot. gpus run hotter then cpus, 70c loads are common.

Are you looking at that on a second monitor in game? alt-tabing or quiting out can easly let the temps drop over 10c in a matter of seconds.

Mine idles at 42c and I have seen it hit 73c after running rthdribl cranked for about 45 minutes.
 
mine idles at 34c in the overdrive tab. using omega drivers. card is clocked at 550/600 using radlinker. stock cooling and no side fan. but my case is very well ventilated =)

That is alt+tabbing to monitoring software while game is still running and I am cowering in a corner hoping I don't get shot or stabbed.
 
just installed the vga silencer 4 and my idle dropped from 34c to 31c. the fit is pretty tight on my msi k8n neo2 board. the clearance from the nf3 chipset fan is less than .25" and it raised the chipset temp by 1-2c so really it did nothing for me.
