When will we know that we are not under the threat of terrorism? Does the government tell us that? Do they decide when we should have to have a national ID?
Taking the bogus argument that we should have this because a threat of terrorism is a moot point. We never know when the threat is real until something happens. We will never know when the threat is over.
If we give up our freedoms now then we have lost the war before we had a chance to fight it.
EDIT: Would a national ID have helped prevent the Oklahoma City bombing??? No. Terrorists can be foreign and domestic.
