What are your temps right now?

I live in El Paso, Tx. and the days are hitting 100. As I am surfing the web my computer is running at 42 degrees with a motherboard temp of 31 degrees according to the program Motherboard Monitor 5. I have a ThermalRight SLK-700 with a YS Tech 74mm T.M.D. fan. My CPU is a an XP 2100+ running at 12x180mhz(2160mhz). Is this normal? What are you guys getting with the same or very similar setups?

I'm cruisin' the net... here att... crunching some SETI units & watching TV, a little Discovery channel action.
System is in my sig and running 41c / 27c, CPU/MOBO......
And livin' in El Paso with your high temps it looks like you're doing quite well actually.

Can't cross-compare among different mobos. They're calibrated across about a 30C spread for SocketA boards of different brands & models, and BIOS revision can make a difference too (case in point: Asus A7V333-R CPU temperature estimates dropped about 15C with the 1012 BIOS, as I recall).

There's a fine example of PC Probe, and why I don't use it.... just can't see how a motherboard can be a given temp and the CPU is running 1 or 2 degrees higher. Just doesn't work for me. I've had PC Probe report the CPU temp as being less than the motherboard temp. So I use MBM.

It's not the software,it's the Asus mobo itself that reports low.

Asus boards tend to be 10-15 degrees cooler than actual,it's the same if you use Pcprobe or any other software.

I have an Asus motherboard... and don't experience that little oddity. Although I do agree with you that different motherboards, chipsets and any number of other factors make it difficult to get true temps.
