What are your side effects to Vicodin?

Having to deal with a torn meniscus, achilles tendinitis, and hip bursitis all at once, my doc put me on Vicodin.

I was curious to see what side effects you had on this medication.

Personally, I get dry mouth, a slight buzz, some dizziness, and a slight overall tingling sensation. At times, I do get drowsy and just have to lay down and take a short nap. Worse of all, the pain in my hip is only deadened somewhat, and I'm experiencing no real relief. What's the next step up after Vicodin?

It never helped me with the actual pain either but it makes me lose focus on it. Similar effects like you said: slight overall tingling, buzz. Its nice actually.

I must build up a tolerance tho, that only happens like the first time I take it when I get a prescription.

Addiction is really the only one. Especially with those things wrong they probably gave you a good dosage.

Enjoy!

Well, they asked me to take 2 at time. Bottle says 5mg Hydrocodone each tablet.

Vicodin (hydrocodone) did nothing for me. Now Combunox (oxycodone), Combunox was the sh!t.

After my very first knee surgery (3 and counting), I had the same reaction. I haven't taken this stuff in over 10 years, and now I can hold them down.

I do plan to call my doctor and let them know I NEED to sleep at night, but still be able to go to work. This whole situation is getting more frustrating by the day.

Vicodin may as well be a sugar pill for me - it does nothing at all. I thought this was odd, but apparently I'm not the only one.

I can't remember the last time I was prescribed vicodin for anything. I haven't taken any drug stronger than aspirin in years.

I can't remember if that's a lot or not. But if you're still in a lot of pain call your doctor and let him know. For the extent of your injuries I doubt you'd be driving around.

Addiction, stomach may hurt (take 5, drink 6-10 beers, tell me how you feel the next morning :)), some people get sick but I've ate so many of them badboys I don't get that way.

5mg are the smallest ones. I'd take 3 for any sort of decent pain relief, and you'll want like 5 or more if they are for recreation. But it depends the person and its easy to build up a tolerance quickly.

On the scale of opiates its pretty low and weak. Only a few crap ones like T3/codeine and Darvocet/Propoxyphene are worse.

Constipation. I'm being serious. You usually have to be on them for two weeks or more before that becomes an issue.

It doesen't take the pain away, it just makes it so yu don't care. I blew the last of mine from my wisdom teeth on some girlfriend arguments. I never felt so good about not caring and therefore loosing an argument.

Never did anything for me. Back in college, I got on a bad pill kick and I just never got anything out of Vicodin. Recently got some prescribed for my neck injury and I can't even tell I've taken anything after popping a couple 7.5's.

The doctor prescribed me Vicodin when I got my wisdom teeth out... seems a little overkill looking back on it, but oh well.

When I took it, it made me dizzy and gave me a pleasant tingling feeling. It made me very mellow actually, and I was very relaxed.

Just a tip: When you stop taking it, do NOT stop cold-turkey. I did, and it did not feel good at all... Vicodin is habit-forming so I would try to ween yourself off it.

vicodin makes me angry. I took it once for wisdom teeth, and tossed the rest of the bottle. I make do with over the counter stuff since then.
