What are your recommendations for an excellent typing keyboard?

My Microsoft whateever-this-is keyboard is starting to show its age and all of the keyboards at Best Buy are either annoying to type on (that's you, Logitech) or wireless (that's you, Microsoft). Is there an IBM model-M analogue for 2011? Something with USB and whatnot? I'm using one of those Logitech keyboards with the F-Lock key (I hope whoever came up with that one got in trouble) on my Debian system, and I want to buy a new keyboard and move this MS board to the Debian machine.

Do I have any options? I do game, so are the Lycosa keyboards any good?

I use one of these badboys at the office: (your IBM model-M for 2011)

ummm i have a spill protector over it, and a korean language button stickers on top so it didnt bother me that it came blank.

But i love mechanical unless i am gaming.
when i am gaming, i need my macro keys, and scripting abilities, as well as a lcd panel so i can watch my gpu temps on it instead of the corner of my screen.

So what are you going to do with this keyboard and do you need macro keys?

budget?

a mechanical switch like the Cherry MX Blue is highly regarded for typing, although a good modern mechanical keyboards is going to be $80+

I recommend AutoHotkey for all your macro and scripting needs. I haven't used Logitech's keyboard software, but I honestly cannot see it having more functionality than Autohotkey. It definitely has a large learning curve however, so even if you have the brains I wouldn't be surprised if most people don't care enough to move off the G keyboards. I know none of my friends do lol =D

I ended up getting the Das Keyboard Professional. I really enjoy it. It was a bit spendy, but it will last forever and a day. The only hard part is getting used to how tall it is.
