Derailing my own thread, but I wonder how long I should leave chicken marinading for...

overnight.

unless you use one of those 10-min marinades... then 10 minutes.

I loves me some vegetables...almost any variety EXCEPT okra and artichokes.

IMO, you can't make okra edible, no matter how you prepare it. I've had it boiled, fried, deep fried, baked, sauteed...it always tasted like shit...and almost always had the texture of over-ripe snot.

Artichokes are edible...but barely, and IMO, they're more work than they're worth.

Try Talk of Texas pickled okra, hot variety is preferable. It's a little pricey, but one of the most delicious things that comes in a jar.

Easily the tomato. No veggie offers this much incredible flavor. It's the most orgasmic taste there is. We're talking eyeballs rolling in the back of your head, salivating just from the smell of them, etc. Must be homegrown though or purchased from a local farmer.

Fruit.

There's no way that strawberries are a negative calorie food. If that were the case, I'd eat nothing but strawberries for a few weeks & lose a ton of weight.

No thanks. I guess I forgot "pickled" in my list, but I've also had pickled okra...and don't think too highly of that either. (Uncle Sam "allowed" me to spend some time in the southern states once upon a time...don't care for grits either.) 😛

I used to gobble up okra of any kind when I was younger - pickled, relish, fried, deep fried. Now I just can't eat it. Funny how tastes change. Around my early 20s my tastes underwent a radial shift. Things I loved I didn't much like, and things I loathed we're my favorites.

Since we ruled out the reigning king, The Tomato I'll go with:

Cabbage
Broccoli
Asparagus
Corn

Reigning king has NOT been ruled out. Regardless of it's actual status as a fruit, tomatoes are still eaten as vegetables...and as such, are vegetables...and are fucking wonderful things.

What is America's favorite condiment made out of?

I rest my Tomato case. Do you see a broccoli sauce on the table?😀
