Hey lets make a thread about the good fireworks out there.. The ones that you just HAVE to buy.

I really like

ThunderKings (send a GIANT report up in the air, kinda sounds like m80)
Double Artillery shells (I cant remember brand)
Buy 2 backs of the 300 Saturn missles, and light them off at the same time.. Nothing like 600 saturn missles going off!

Thunder kings are awesome... last time i went i got some of the single shot and 2 16 shot cakes of them... good stuff.

also i want to add the larger moon traveler bottle rockets; the ones with the yellow sticks that are about twice the size of standard moon travelers(which by the way are the staple of all fireworks)

by the way... i think that the second part of my sig somehow applies to the topic

Any of the mortars where you put em in a tube and light em.

I also kinda like the long long long strings of firecrackers ... you know ... the 25000 firecracker ones that stretch 300 feet. Those rock.

Bottle rockets are always fun too.

some of my personal favorites...

GRUCCI NEW YORK HARBOR SHOW morters - simply amazing mortars.

Repeaters...(under 500g)
"shagadelic mojo"
"pyro-pandimonium"
"barbarain blast"
"rain of fire"
"alien abduction"
"emerald city"

over 500g
"bada-bing-bada-boom"

fountains
"new york harbor"
"apache firedance"

These are all top quality pieces and are really amazing.

Yeah those Saturn Battery missiles are always a hoot. Set off 2 500pc bricks and they'll be going for a long time!

I also love triple-break artillary shells, and the single-break ones that just explode in a loud flash. There's also a cake called "Nebula" that sends up tiny little sticks that spin up really fast and shoot sparks, so it ends up looking like a nebula, or a galaxy. A big disc of sparks, and they're all amongst each other... it's a great effect.

Also, bottle rockets of all sizes. Just hammer a bunch of small lead pipes into the ground and you can light off 10 in a row with a blow tourch.

the ones i'm referring to are the larger version of the simple <whoosh>.......<bang> bottle rockets; no whistling involved... i live in a state that doesn't allow anything aerial or that explodes, so the lack of whistle conceals my location a little better... my neighbor and i have had attention from setting off fireworks so the anonymnity is a plus in my situation.

All I can really remember are those tanks where they would go like 10 feet and fire fireworks.

Jeez now I want fireworks...

Yep, every year all the Grand Rapids/Lansing news stations are sure to repeat "State law prohibiting any fireworks that explode or leave the ground...". But 5 years running of putting on displays, I haven't been pestered yet. I hate any fireworks that whistle anyway, besides the Saturn Battery missiles, any other whistling doesn't need to be involved... I just want to hear explosions and "WHOOSH!!!!".

ahh, I've always known "moon travelers" as the actual brand - an extremely powerful bottle rocket. whisteling and report.

super powerful. enough to break a bottle, blow up a can and they are water proof. I have probably 6 bricks left over...always a favl\orite play toy.

:D

I got one tank each year when I was a kid. Take it home, straight the wire axles so it'd roll, fire it off.

Disassemble, reenforce internal structure with popcycle sticks and glue. Reload with inch and a halfers with the ends cut off and used the stringers from firecracker packs to make the long internal fuses. Reassemble, fire it off. Repeat.

No, didn't grow up poor, just had more fun this way.
