i would have to say max payne 1 and 2 although any lossy compression doesnt do anything by poets of the fall justice.

the duke nukem 3d theme was cool in '96.

the first Doom had a really good score.

there may have been one track i loved in the first quake.

indiana jones and the infernal machine had excellent music as did shadows of the empire.

rayman 2 had a good score as did the 3rd one.

there is a really good ninja warriors album based upon the arcade game although the super nes one had pretty good music too.

order of ecclessia and just about all the other CV games before then each had an excellent score.

revenge of shinobi.

nights into dreams (and journey of dreams to a lesser extent)

sonic CD (the japan one, lossless with all the vocals wherever applicable of course... the steam one is a joke)

sonic 1-3&knuckles

sonic generations

knuckles chaotix

the three streets of rage games.

devil may cry 1-3 and 4 to a small degree.

many more sega saturn and genesis games.

yoshi's island.

all the metroid games through zero mission.

dkc2 had a good score

pd zero had an excellent score.

Jetset Willy and Gyanna sisters From the C64.
MechworriorII 1,GB and 2.
Homeworld (mentioned above)

Most games now I dont run the music because it drowns out the the stealth sneaky noises of the games.

I liked the one on GT racing when you are trying to chase someone on the last lap this music suddenly appears and it has all the drums. And it really affects your game you really feel like you just want to catch the guy before you.

Final Fantasy 6 and Chronotrigger stand out for me. I like Endless Space also, but it's totally different.

Grim Fandango and Full Throttle.
Actually most of the Lucas Arts adventure games had great music.

^ great peices with really good music.

Donkey kong country series (snes ones, II&III) deserves a nod too, same with Supermario world.

Skyrim - the theme song mainly
Bastion - the songs were awesome
WoW - great background music
AC4 - the shanties were amazing
Zelda OoT - this might just be nostalgia, but I still remember the hyrule fields theme.
MGS3 - songs, cutscene, loved this game

Shatter

The game's only a few dollars on steam. The game is fun, but it's the music that is the real attraction.
