let me rephrase my statement. I wish that BOTH existed. I'm not against these "experience" games, but i miss the freedom of the olden days.
I get what you are saying but BG3 isnt trying to be NWN. I love NWN but its a totally different thing. The things that make NWN modules great now are the opposite of what makes BG3 great.

Playing CoD Blackops 6 campaign, it is good. I never play CoD, but gamepass, so why not. Aside from the obnoxious launch process of course... Launch the CoD app, then need to launch BlackOps from there to launch the Blackops game, then select the campaign from BlackOps menus, then you can finally play. why can't I just launch the campaign directly instead of jumping through hoops?

Haven't tried the multiplayer, probably won't...

Also dabbling with Persona 3 reload. Playing on my tablet via gamepass cloud streaming. Works well streaming as it is not a demanding game. The on screen controller is a bit touchy. I am about 2.5 hrs in, not sure I get the hype for the game yet, but I finally just went into the first dungeon and got a taste of the combat. Will see how it goes.

Knuckled down trying to complete Mad Max. Fun game in hour intervals, but suffers from that open world saminess which isn't helped by most of game being set in an apocolyptic dessert hellscape that has very little visual uniqueness from region to region.

There are a few areas, like the plains of silence and the dump that look radically different than the rest, but they're very few and far between.

Mad Max's apocalypse isnt a fun Fallout style apocalypse either. It's absolutely brutal with cannibals and slavery and rape and all those things. Little rough to play in long stretches.

I am playing through the SC2 campaigns again, I just finished WoL.
i really loved the LotV campaign. I felt like that was the most "starcraft" of the 3 campaigns. Though story-arc wise, I wish they hadn't introduced some big-bad-take-over-the-universe villain. The SC1 campaigns were all pretty tight with a very tangible objective for each faction.

I miss the old RTS genre, to my knowledge there hasnt really been anything since the old days. The last thing I played with enthusiasm was Total Annihilation.

Not an RTS fan but a search turned up the following:

Yea seen that .. 2015. Could still be good I guess 😉.

Roadcraft. Made by the same developer that made Spintires, Mud Runner, Snow Runner. The game is mostly about getting AI convoys/vehicles from one point to another, but it is an Open World make roads anywhere. Can be played Single Player or up to 4 player Co-op. Been playing it Single Player and having fun with it.

Finished going through world in conflict which is a pretty old RTS but has a really good single player campaign. Now I'm looking for something similar and found iron harvest which seems like I would enjoy that too.

Been playing PEAK quite a bit. It's great for a 1.5 hour diversion, and if I fail I can do a new map the next day.

Actually haven't started playing anything new in awhile... waiting on some things to drop later in the year, though. Also waiting for AC: Shadows to be discounted.

Still need to wrap these up:

Clair Obscur Exp 33 - played a lot of this between May and the middle of June; didn't think it'd suck me in as much as it did
TES IV Oblivion (remastered) - genuinely enjoy romping through this, even if it does get annoying to play as you level up. difficulty scaling makes me sad
STALKER 2 - basically right at the end of my first playthrough, just can't seem to find the time. doesn't help that each update is 50GB
Dead Space (remake) - didn't get very far into this one, but do plan to complete it at some point

Been replaying Rimworld. Still on 1.5. I picked up Biotech DLC at a discount. Odyssey seems like a neat addon, i might be tempted to pick it up in a few months after it stabilizes and mods stabilize.. but i dont wanna deal with recreating a whole new mod order for now.

BG3 with some buddies. Another couple of guys want to play Gears5. Space Marine 2 if I really have downtime. Otherwise, a couple rounds of mechabellum
