Completed playing Project IGI: I'm Going In and IGI-2: Covert Strike.

Absolutely loved going through Project IGI again after more than two decades, played it last when I was in college! Some of the levels in the game brought back memories of how much I toiled and how many hours I spent trying to get through them without having the option to save at ANY point in a mission! I had a Pentium 3 rig with 128MB of Memory and a GeForce 2 MX400 GPU back then!

IGI-2 however really frustrated me at times and largely because of the random enemy spawns in mission maps. What's worse is that the live map view didn't even pick these random enemies so I thought an area was clear when it really wasn't and as a result got killed! Thankfully this game does offer the option to save your game in a mission otherwise I probably would have rage quit mid-way!

It feels like it was developed by morons, instead of the same people at the same studio. I could never get into it more than a few minutes. Whatever made IGI great is missing in the sequel. And why it killed the franchise.

Just picked up A Total War Saga: Troy.

How historical are these games? I've always wanted to pick up Rome Total War, but these type of games have a steep learning curve. Anyway, the graphics look sharp. Might pick up Attila next.

Just completed the questline from Oscuro's Oblivion overhaul mod (this is a mod with many other mods in it) named "Shadows in a struggle for power". A complex questline with different endings & multiple ways of dealing with it. The wiki entry for it is very long indeed. .. The enemies in this mod are brutally overpowering so it calls for lateral thinking in how to get through it with out dying multiple times. I attempted this from level 23.
Funny thing is though the reward one gets for it is weak compared to what I was able to achieve before starting it, still one doesn't know until they actually play it out... But I highly recommend attempts at this quest if one is an elder scrolls fan.

JFC why is Witcher 3 so good? Like WTF is this ****. CDPR really ****ed themselves making a game this good, I completely and wholly grok the Cyperpunk 2077 hype now.

I finished Black Mesa. I really like the old school FPS mechanics with fast movements, bunny hopping and health packs. However, the game drags on at times and many of the levels feel very repetitive. I never played the original Half Life and not sure if it was like this, but HL2 definitely had this problem too. I liked the Xen sections the best and they have a great alien feel that reminds me of the alien environments in Crysis.

I'm also playing the Fens Sheriff Department mod for Fallout 4. It's a DLC-sized mod and has some excellent characters and dialogue, but the quests so far are boring and are all fetch quests. I think the later parts are better, the first half is actually an earlier mod.

I'm playing Warcraft 3 Reforged single player just because I wanted to enjoy the remake. Now that the dust settled and most of the bugs are fixed, I'm enjoying it. It's really nothing special though. I like some high res models and etc, but otherwise it's a boring remake.

LMAO.... CS:Source ... you would completely WRECK the other team, if you and 2 friends could do this, and were on the same team.

I remember planting the bomb, before the other side got to Dust A, and hear the crying on how we were hacking, only to find out we are actually at the PC Bang on LAN, and could not cheat.

I posted this again, but I want to say Overwatch is still an excellent game despite all the drama.

Yes I am super mad, but as far as 5v5 PvP goes, it's great.

Amazing art direction
Top tier shooting mechanic
Great strategies with roles
Satisfying kills with unique combos and timing
You can shoot hitscan weapons like a FPS, or a shielding tank or an aimless AOE taser gun brawler that still requires precision skills to net the kills.

It's just a well made game.

Too bad selling skins for $20-40 is just too profitable.. which is why Blizz cancelled the single player.

Because why spend 50-100K hours of your developers to make a single player that could be charged for like $30 max when you can make 1 legendary skin under 40 hours that sells for $39.99.

Unreal.

Dishonored 2. A lot of fun. I love to use the blink power to jump over an adversary , turn 180 degrees and slice them in two or just use that blade like i am poking a carrot while cooking to see if it is done.

I'm replaying Cryostasis, an eastern euro horror FPS with a quite deep allegorical story but janky gameplay and combat. The story unfolds in multiple layers and really asks the player to pay attention to details to fully understand, it's like a Russian novel made into a game. It still captures a sense of cold and desolation unlike anything else out there. I got it when it came out but it has been delisted on all the stores now and can only be found on abandonware sites.

On the final boss fight of Blood and Wine. Lawd it's tough but simultaneously feels very doable. Get past the first two sections OK, and have even gotten most of the way through the 3rd section but always get popped before I can destroy the 3rd heart. I think I'm just rushing it and need to slow down.

Just wish I didn't have to do the whole fight from the beginning each time, shoulda let me save between stage 2 and stage 3.

It's been a helluva journey and Toussant was a fantastic addition to the Witcher 3's environments. I love the tongue in cheek element of it, Geralt is at his prime with the deadpan humor, feels like a great "Epilogue" after the events of the mainline Witcher game and HoS.

Curious to see how this all wraps up.

I got the "good" ending but actually liked the "bad" ending where Anna and Syanna both die better, feels more impactful and more in line with the rest of the game. The fairy tale world was cool as well.

And I beat Blood and Wine. I appreciated the long tail on the ending, and the somewhat bittersweet ending I received.

My biggest issue with the ending is this is the end of Geralt's journey. I would have liked to have seen some of the characters we met along the way congregate at Corvo Bianco for a final "send off" party.

Instead the ending felt very anti-climatic. My Romance option showed up and that's it, dumps me back out into the world. No Dandelion, no Zoltan, No Ciri (I know she can show up, but I dont understand why it has to be to the exclusion of your romance character).

Was a lot of opportunity to really cap things off right.

That said, what a helluva series. Incredible characters, cinematic feel, beautiful scenery, engaging worlds.

I just don't know how another ARPG is going to match up to this for a long time. I think I'm going to have to be on a diet of FPS games and such for a while to really cleanse my pallet.

Started playing Eve Online again. Took about 4-5 years off (basically since just before they made a free-to-play level). Lots of changes that I am still getting up to speed on (been playing more and more over the last 2-3 months). Not a huge fan of some of the changes, but do like a lot of the others, so in general, I think it is a good thing. I'm still not happy since they changed the way hauling works years ago, as I trained up for an Orca since at that time you couldn't scan things in containers in the corporate hanger bays and nothing in them would drop as loot anyway (they would blow up with the ship) so there was no reason to attack that ship other than for the tears in high sec space (now it takes me 5-6 trips to move the same amount of stuff in other ships since everything has a drop/loot chance).

Figured I would go back to my roots a bit since the corp I was in seems to essentally be defunct (it still exists, but I have not seen a single person log in other than me, the good thing at least is that all the tax levels were set to 0 at least and there are not enough of us around for someone to want to declare war). So been doing some solo mission running to get some stands up and startup up my previous market trading (can't really do what I did with the corp which was w-space living as you really need at least 5 or 6 active people at a minimum to make that work well, and to do it like we previously did, 100+ people). But I do know I can do solo missions and market trading till I get myself up to speed on all the changes (memorize all the new ships and their threats, etc...). The market is ever changing, and yet the same as it always was, just need to know how to read it and anticipate.

I'm so goddamn dumb. My projected gaming schedule was to finish Zelda: ToTK, then play the Ratchet and Clank PS4 remaster in anticipation of the Steam version of R&C: Rift Apart, and then start on Mount and Blade Bannerlord. The problem being, I thought I already bought Bannerlord and it was on sale during the most recent sale and even though I can afford it, I simply refuse to pay full price for a game when it regularly goes on sale. So now I'm conflicted because I do love the M&B series (yes, even Fire and Sword) and I believe in supporting good developers, but it goes right back to the fact I don't buy games at full price...

Not sure what to do with this one.

By the way, Zelda: ToTK was absolutely amazing. If there's any Zelda fans here who don't own a Switch, this is the game that you really should consider grabbing a Switch for. It's unreal how good that game was, especially if you played BoTW so you can see all the vast improvements they made.

I have been sucked into Dave the Diver. Apparently it's gaining a huge momentum as an indie-style pixel ocean diver / sushi restaurant management sim.

During the day, you dive into the depths to catch fish that are apparently real-life specimens. There's a fun combat element to this as with various weapons.

Whatever you catch, you bring it to your chef and spend the evening running the restaurant - preparing menu, hiring staff with diff perks, finding more expensive / profitable recipes, etc.

They tied two genres into one: Subnautica + Restaurant sim. And it actually has lots of scripted missions, so I'd even say it's a bit of an adventure game as well.

Ok, so that seems to be something right up my alley right now... I will need to check that out when I get a chance.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is not what I was expecting. Only played it for about four hours and had to uninstall it. Nothing is explained to the player, the flight controls are pretty wonky (though fans of flight sims have said it's pretty good), and it's just all around irritating to play. I think my biggest gripe is they suspended the travel and exploration in exchange for more engaging dog fights, but I loved the travel and exploration of the first game and the fights were fun as well. According to Steam, I've sunk over 300 hours in the first game so I guess I got my money's worth out of the first game for what I spent on them both.

Been playing Syberia I for the last few days. An absolutely fantastic point & click adventure game. The story has me hooked. I had played it decades ago and thought before I pick up Syberia 3 (which I have been meaning to play for sometime now) I might as well go back and re-play the first two games in the series.

So I'm playing StarCraft 2, the first game was why I almost failed my first year of college. But when they actually released SC2 I think Blizzard had some China shenanigans or something else that really turned me off so I did not ever buy or play it. Fast forward to now, I looked and was shocked it was free, so downloaded it and started playing because I am interested in how the story plays out.

I played all the Syberia games at one point. They have beautiful artwork and backgrounds but the plot is thin and forgettable. I recall you meet some yeti like creatures eventually.
