My god i go to high school and all i see is Thugs and BlTCHES. Kids in my school in Miami Florida have lost respect for their elders and have no manners at all. They cool kids are the ones that smoke weed, have sex and beat up people. The cool girls are the ones that will "do" anyone. Of course theres the execptional few that behave well and have parents that taught them well. Some of you parents truly dont know how your child are, I have a friend who doesn't give a fvck about anything and skips school, drinks and treats girls like dirt. I've known him since he was in elementary and his parents still think hes a good boy and when he gets caught doing something he tells them hes sorry and all this bullsh*t and they forgive him. You guys better start raising your kids better before it gets worse.

Not to stereotype, but you do go to a Miami public high school, right?

i agree with you on some aspects, but remember, parents can't keep their eyes on their kids at all times, or they become like my parents and rarely let ya out of the house, which is quite the nuisance seeing as how i have chosen not to do all that you have specified above. some kids are just bad seeds, and no amount of anything will change them

My school's like that and I'm just in a small town in South Jersey. It disgusts me the way these people act and that other kids would consider them "cool" because they are druggies or petty criminals (probably related to being druggies) or even sluts. When you think about the situations in all schools, it makes school shootings make more sense. Of course they are still horrible, but I can just understand how some kids get fed up with the amount of morons and losers that are filling our schools today. I fear for the future of our nation, I mean there are only so many jobs pumping gas we can give these people.

Toph, you do not really believe that do you?? Kids are not born bad seeds. They are raised to be bad. If parents would pay attention to their kids, teach them responsibility and respect then they wouldn't be bad kids. Parents that let their kids walk all over them or pretend they dont know what is going on with their kids are the problem. It makes me sick to see these parents on talk shows saying crap like "Some kids are just bad seeds" How the hell are kids supposed to learn about taking responsibility for their actions when the parent is sitting there #1 telling them that there is nothing that they can do the kid is just genetically bad and #2 the parent not taking responsibility for their part in the kids behavior? It makes me sick!! I was watching some talk show one time where a mother was saying the same thing about her son who was 9! He came out and started cursing at her and she did nothing about it? How is he supposed to learn that it is wrong to do things like curse at his mother when there is absolutely no consequenses to his actions! She should have pulled his pants down and spanked his butt right their on national television. But she didnt because she didnt want to be acused of abusing her kid. Thats whats wrong with kids today, they dont get spanked enough. Do like my parents did. Spank em every day whether they need it or not. Just in case you missed something.

I'm in high school too, but for some strange reason, here everyone respects everyone. People will respect each others' opinions and decisions. If someone smoked weed or anything, he is cool enough to keep this something private and JUST MIND HIS OWN BUSINESS. If you are completely against Drugs, Alcohol and Sex, hey ... it's ok. It's up to you to decide what you want out of your life. And these two opposites get together, talk to each other, just as if there were no differences.

That's what is cool about my school. Well, I think I live in a surreal world ;)

i do believe it because i have seen it happen to my friends. they have wonderful parents, everything they could ask for, but they do things their parents wouldn't even dream of. they say they're goin for a sleepover at a friends house, parents don't see anything wrong with it, but they go and get drunk and laid etc. most of the people you see acting like this act like perfect angles aroudn their parents, so they have no clue how their kids are acting. like me, i have been seeing my girlfriend for 6 months online, my parents have no clue. doesn't mean they're bad parents, just means that I, like most other people, can cover their tracks very well.

edit: and no, i don't believe all are like that. but there are some in every school, town, city, and they corrupt others. i've seen it happen with many, many ex-friends of mine

Those parents are in denial toph. They dont think their kids are doing anything wrong because they dont want to. It's not about how well you cover your tracks. Its about knowing what its like to be a teenager. Good grief, I know they kinds of things I tried to pull (and some I did pull)when I was a teenager. Why would I think my kid wont try the same thing? Every teenager knows that sleepover is code for drunken party. Any parent who takes the time to relate to their kid and remember what it is like to be a teenager can see right through stories like that no matter how good they are.

not always. i have/go to sleep overs, don't do any drinking etc. because i chose not to. my parents think that i would, so they restrict me, make sure someone is always home, he!! i can't even bike 3 km from my house. kinda extreme parnoya don't ya think? plus adults drink, don't they? there are some a$$hole adults as we all know. also, some of these parents work 2 jobs or more, are single, gettin divorced etc. they have more on their minds than "i wonder if my son/daughter was polite today" my friend Sean is a good example. he has wonderful parents,i like them alot. his father is a firefighter, and takes no bull from anyone, and doesn't tolerate any kind of drinking etc. if he KNEW that sean drank and smoked, then he would make sure it stopped. sean was a good kid, until a few of his 'friends' decided to introduce him to all kinds of drugs, and made him the obnoxious bast@rd he is now. but he still acts pleasantly around his parents and the people who know them. they have no clue what he has become, and i know it isn't their fault

edit: night all, gotto get up early tomorrow. 2.5 hour test for school tomorrow. fuuuuuuun.

You just proved my point! You don't drink at parties because your parents don't have their head in the sand and let you know that they are aware of what goes on! It's not paranoia. It is awareness. Once you have kids you will understand that better. Your parents probably have taken the time to talk to you about drinking and drugs or at least made you aware of the consequences if you were caught. That is a powerful message. Maybe your friends parents havent talked to their kid about drinking. Maybe his dad just thinks that just saying how much he disaproves of drinking is enough. I dont know. And you have to remember, you can be a great person and still be a bad parent. Parenting is not about being liked it's about being a good teacher, a good communicator, and a role model.

And I realize that there are parents who have other things on thier mind then to have to worry about what their kids are doing every second. However if the kids have been taught right from day one then they have less to worry about.

I go to a "gifted" (I hate that damn word) public school and the thug-bitch to non-thug-bitch ratio is a lot lower than I see in regular public schools. Many (of cource not all, there are smart people in public school) of the people in public school find education a waste of time, and are only there for the purposes of socialization, making money, or having sex, until they're old enough to not legally be required to go.
