I'll take that anyday, over getting taxed a couple grand for the sake of the new Great Society! Speaking of a couple grand, it sure would be nice to put that lump into my own 401K, instead of this abortion! :|

So, you'd rather have a plan of tax less and spend more rather than one of tax more and spend more? It doesn't take a genius to figure out that we can't survive long doing that. We are going to have to pay for the massive debt this administration is racking up right now and it's going to be in the form of higher taxes. Get ready to give more.

Renewable energy. Retards who stand in the way of progress due to ignorance and fear of change. I get pissed about lots of stupid topics, but the wind turbine thing in my state...that has me frothing at the mouth. The argument against it is based entirely on sheer bullsh|t, and yet we still have "debates" about it.

Renewable energy is something that is very slow in progress but I don't think people are afraid of it, it is that they understand that NOTHING that produces clean energy are as efficient and cost effective as coal and fossil fuels.

After driving for four hours in interstate traffic today I have to add retards who drive slow in the left lane and then give you dirty looks when you pass them in the wide open right lane.

I'm also developing a theory about Altima drivers but I'll wait for more observations before going with it.

Social programs that who will take the most advantage of????.....yep you guessed it..............Red States :p
So, quit voting for politicians who drag their feet on privatizing Social Security (an abortion of a social program from the beginning), or making English the official language, or tort reform. Everybody on this board bitches about this crap, but keeps putting these moron in office. WTF is wrong with you?

What do you mean? All 3 branches of government is controlled by "so called conservatives". Why do we keep the morons in office? I don't know.

How about the deficits? Both of them....trade and federal? Does it bother anyone that we're borrowing money for tax breaks at the expense of future America? (I doubt it because you don't feel the defict. You don't get a bill so most don't care. Maybe a flat tax where everybody pays the same and let's see if those spending programs shrivel up?)

All 3 branches of government is controlled by "so called conservatives".

English-only measure clears key House panel
  • Six Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee eclipsed the opposition of three Democrats in a preliminary vote to put the issue on the 2006 ballot.
No Social Security Privatization
  • Privatization is DEAD. Bush lost. The Democrats united and won...
Tort Reform
  • Tort reform remains a major policy objective of the Bush Administration and the Republican party. Proclaims the Republican platform: "America?s litigation system is broken. Junk and frivolous lawsuits are driving up the cost of doing business in America by forcing companies to pay excessive legal expenses to fight off or settle often baseless lawsuits." Democrats are basically in a defensive position on the issue and the subject is not discussed in their platform. Legislatively, the reform task has not been easy even though Republicans control Congress and the Presidency. In July 2004, Democrats in the Senate were able to stall the class action reform which was eventually approved in 2005.

Maybe a flat tax where everybody pays the same and let's see if those spending programs shrivel up?)

A majority of Democrats, 78% oppose a flat tax which eliminates all deductions with 22% supporting such a plan.

Why are you bitching about SS? You will actually see the money, while I will just be paying it forward with nothing in return.

So, support politicians who are trying to privatize! That's the point! I'm tired of throwing my, and my employer's money at that lame ass program. Our money would be FAR better spent in a 401K or similar program.

So a 55 to 44 majority (one independant) can't get something passed? Hmmmmm....sounds pretty weak to me.

Anyone else tired of the deficits? Again, does it not matter just because you don't get a monthly statement (other than your taxes collected) for your portion of the deficit (above and beyond taxes).

The Democrats are PROUD to obstruct progress! Better than half this board bitches about the fvcked up laws, regulations and programs they've blessed us with, but keep voting for them just the same. I'm sure they'd lie down for balancing the budget, by getting rid of their damn social programs too...

Good, I'm glad the privatization of SS lost. It isn't an issue as far as I'm concerned. Why fvck with something that isn't broken? Look at Medicare, now that's fvcked up and they should be looking at that.

You need to wake up and look at the country as a whole and not just your little limited opinions.

Is there really a Social Security crisis?
  • Two independent panels of experts examined the trustees' projections of how our workforce and economy will grow. The panels found the trustees' estimates to be reasonable or maybe even a little optimistic regarding the future of the Social Security system's financing. In other words, instead of a "phony crisis," we might actually have something even worse than expected.
Yeah, and I just LOVE having my couple grand per year earning next to nothing, when it could be making serious money instead.

Oh, you mean like No Child Left Behind, a Republican-led initiative?

You are blind as a bat if you believe that Democrats and "blue staters" are the only proponents and recipients of so-called "social programs" that you love to hate.

Do you really think that America would be better with less social welfare and more PATRIOT Acts?
