I've decided that I'm without the golden ears. My Gigaworks sound pretty much like my old altec lansings, and like my friend's logitechs. My HD600s sound pretty much like the Triports, which sound pretty much like some 9 year old Aiwa headphones from Best Buy. My Denon stereo w/ mission speakers sounds just like the Panasonic bookshelf system I got from Best Buy for $130 for my garage.

I think the only quality I can appreciate is volume. That's why I freakin' hate these gigaworks, they're anemic. Anyways, after months of poopooing on people for buying Logitech speakers, I thought I'd just air the fact that all this stuff I've bought is out of snobbery by proxy.

ok, my sarcasm detector just went off the limit there bud 🙂
despite our disagreement in audio realms, i do enjoy your sense of humor at ATOT (no pun intended, i really do 😀) hate to break it to ya, but hd600s do sound really lifeless without proper amplification, thats one thing i cant stress enough 😉

That wasn't sarcasm. I seriously doubt I could tell a difference between an amp and no amp. As I said, all my headphones sound more or less the same to me. I couldn't qualify the differences as being "better."

I'm really starting to think you're hearing-impaired 😛 Keeping you in mind, I turned my GW 7.1 up to low 6's today for NIN's Heresy - from an alubm which, in my mp3 collection at least, has relatively low volume - and had to turn it down within two minutes due to ear discomfort. Now I'm within 5' of the system, but I don't think it would be much different were I farther - of course, I have above average hearing, mostly due to my 'satellite-dish' ears, but I'd think unless you were deaf or close to it the GW provide sufficient volume under 95% of situations for those with normal hearing.

I think DVDs are nearly unwatchable with the gigaworks. Really, they just have no power. I want to feel like I'm there, people are shooting at me, something blew up in the room.... They just can't do it.

I can see where you're comign from with this, I guess. I don't like my movies very loud, that could be the difference.

I'm listening to Moxy Fruvous - Fly (192 / 256 Kbps variable bitrate mp3 on Winamp5)

Audiotrak Prodigy sound card (Via 24HT chipset, like m-audio revolution). Two pairs Midiland S2/4100 Speakers (quad-stereo).
