In the same way, I don't ask for anything from my parents, either. They bugged me about it for a little while, but I told them that I don't really need or want much (well, I want to upgrade my computer, but that I will do with my own money, probably in January of next year).

These plans are of course subject to change, and if technology moves forward a good deal between now and after Christmas, I may get a different setup. But as for now (for kind of a gift to myself for waiting this long with the crappy setup I have now 😉), I'm planning to get these to upgrade my current setup (AMD Duron 800MHz, loud-n-crappy Cooler Master HSF, Gigabyte 7ZXE [KT133A], 512MB SDR SDRAM):

AMD Athlon XP 1700+
Zalman CNPS3100+ (flower-looking HSF thing)

So far I know I'm getting a Logitech MX700 ($38 after rebate at amazon, thanks hot deals!) because it was more then I personally would have paid for a mouse but I really wanted one. I've told my mom that I don't want anything else, I figure I'm 19 and in college, I can buy whatever I want and don't have with my own money. However, she's kinda upset about that, she gets into this gift giving a wee much and intends to spend another $225 on me at least. I've been looking for a hot deal on a Canon s200 for around this price range, but no go 🙁
