I'm not religious, so what I'll is take up Buddhism or something and then give it up for 40 days.

I would like to practice it like the monks used to, 40 days of nothing but beer for sustenance. Hopefully my employer would see my side of it, I wouldn't want any religious discrimination or anything like that...

Let's see. I haven't been to Church in a really long time, nor do I care to go now. So as to what I'll be giving up for Lent..... nothing.

Since I'm Catholic I better give something up.

Last year it was soda and fast food. Or was it giving up tobacco? Whatever the case is they were the last 2 years.

I have since quit smoking/chewing. So I can't give up tobacco this year. I don't drink any soda hardly anymore or fast food. So I can't do those either.

I else can I give up. Women? Hmmm... Nah... Computer games? Possibly... Maybe... Hey. Thats a good idea.

Dang, is it Lent already? I haven't really put any thought into it this year yet. To clarify, I give something up for Lent because I want to, not because I feel like I have to. Deprivation, even of some small habit, is a good reminder of many things, not the least to be grateful for all the things we have.

Wow you're real cool Syringer - a real class act, knowing full well that the majority of members here are not religious and yourself saying as much in the OP.
