Don't know if you're a bourbon fan but the kirkland small batch 107 proof is pretty damn good, especially for its price point.

Word is that it's cask strength Woodford Reserve...which if you like WR is attractive at that price point.

Costco can have some good deals and even somehow score some limited release stuff now and again. Apparently earlier this year some had Willett 4 year single barrel cask strength rye for $32 per 750ml....fortunately for my credit card I must have missed it.

Fantôme de Noël Brewed by Brasserie Fantôme -
COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A very dark and entirely unique holiday seasonal beer, at a whopping 10% alc. by volume. Reportedly spiced with honey, caramel, coriander, black pepper, and other secret ingredients. The alcohol content probably goes a long way toward explaining that very warm and satisfied feeling one finds on the very first sip. A rich, dark-flavored beer with lots of deep-roasted chocolate malt, but still fairly dry, with a hint of sourness at the core. It is very spicy, with some winter spruce flavor in the bargain. The wild yeast sourness also adds to its welcoming character.

This guy is as spicy and yeasty as any winter ale I've had. There is a faint mustiness/funk in the nose. there is a faint braggot taste/style to this. Honey and yeast is present with tons of carbonation. It is corked and capped. When the cap, that took almost no force to remove, was removed there was a few seconds spent staring at the cork slowly rising from its home. I stood there mesmerized by the sight. A loud BANG followed by a gusher of beer brought me out of my stupor. To say this beer is carbonated is an understatement.

Next up is: De Ranke Père Noël - COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A fantastic Christmas beer, but one that defies the universal custom of a stronger, spicier beer for the holiday season. At 7% alcohol by volume, this one is relatively lighter in alcohol than the Guldenberg, and does not pack the hop punch of the XX. It combines some of the best elements of those other two beers – with a fine balance of malt and hops, complex character, a refreshing dryness, and a gorgeous cellar aroma – but is distinguished by its festive copper color. The 1999 Père Noël was a bit of a departure, with a very appealing yeasty tartness that was not readily discernible in earlier years.

Nice and spicy with a nice hop in the middle. Fruity and yeasty. Very nice.

the Costco branded six times distilled American vodka. $13 for a Handle. that's nuts because it's as good as the brands that are $40 for 70ml. Costco also has a Kirkland branded French vodka for like $21 a handle. haven't tried it yet.

Costco ftw.

I bought that Kirkland American vodka today for $13.89. I just wanted cheap vodka for mixed drinks.

To finish off the night is a couple Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot-

COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Weyerbacher, we prefer to brew things true to European style guidelines, so our barley wine is definitely on the malty side, without being overly sweet. Notes of date or perhaps fig on the palate follow a pleasurably malty aroma to your taste buds. The finish is warm and fruity, and begs for the next sip.

$2.50/pint+

that's 9.5% of liquid poison right there. It's also a weird mix of a baltic porter, a smoked porter, and a strong ale.

yum
