Just curious how my shenanigans stack up to the rest of you. For me:

1. Homework
2. Drinking
3. Your mom

Thoughts?

Scored a little Opitplex with a 3800+ and 4GB of RAM with a SSD for free that is set up as a game server so going to do a bit of LAN gaming with neighbors. First up will be Garry's Mod Prop Hunt.

Buying or selling?

Also have you ever been to an outlet mall? I went to one of those a few months ago on vacation. Got some sweet shirts and a leather jacket I'll never wear on the cheap. Try there.

First weekend I have to myself in a while:

1) tennis
2) grocery shopping
3) gym
4) laundry
5) clean apartment
6) cook food for the following week
7) fix heat shield rattle on car
8) guitar
9) fill out all paperwork for pistol permit

Leaving tonight to go camping. Opening day is tomorrow, but I don't hunt. Just an excuse for me to spend a weekend with the guys and get drunk. Should be fun!

Selling

Yes but I'd rather go to a mall and buy stuff that's out going clearance than outlet stuff. Outlet stuff is cheap and not made to as good of a quality compared to what's in the actual department stores. Plus, the two outlets are about 30-40mins away and the local mall is about 15. I only buy new clothes maybe 2 times a year, and new shoes maybe once every 2 years, so I'd rather pay top dollar for shit that will last. I generally only buy stuff on sale still though.

9) fill out all paperwork for pistol permit .... & fapping?

FTFY

1) Hang dry wall
2) Brew beer
3) Ohio State game
4) Run

That's about all I have on the books.

Make a photo blog of your brewing adventures for us. I saw a Good Eats episode years ago on a deployment and wanted to try home brewing. Never got into it though. Are you a seasoned brewer? Does it taste similar to other brands? How much do you get and how much does it cost?

If by 'just', you mean 4.5 years ago, then yes.

Time flies when you're wasting your life on ATOT.

I've been brewing for about four years now, so I am at the point where I can make beer that tastes pretty good but I stick to fairly simple beers. I pretty much brew hefeweitzen every other session because that's my favorite and then something like a red ale on the off session.

It's hard to brew something that tastes just like a commercial beer because they generally have their own yeast strains and yeast is what gives a beer its' unique character. I can make a pretty decent Fat Tire or Blue Moon however. I can make a pretty good Spotted Cow as well.

I make either 2.5 gallon or 5 gallon batches, so figure one or two cases of beer once it is bottled. I guess a five gallon hefe probably costs me about $20-$25 in raw materials.

1. Packing/cleaning/preparing/soaking everything in permethrin
2. Driving to da Bridge and staying there overnight.
3. Heading to the Keweenaw for a week at McLain's.

Listening to "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot in a playlist with the rest of his stuff in preparation.

Bringing the Anova, will devour some pasties, and hope for no snow.

I thought about getting into it. A good buddy of mine started brewing about 2 years ago. The kit he bought was fairly decent for around ~$100. He did end up buying some extra stuff (bigger kettle, bigger carboy, etc.) once he got more into it.

Here are some sites that I was recommended:

2) For buying: http://www.midwestsupplies.com/

Northern Brewer is a good place to buy as well.

How to Brew is almost essential reading for people just getting into the hobby.

Damn, too bad you dropped 200 bucks and more for the ammo, I could give you some lessons on that crap. That's just marksmanship 101.
