I cant explain, but sometimes, usually at work or sometimes when im in a tough situation(car broken down, etc.) I start moving really quickly, heart beats fast, like some survival mode turns on inside of me. I always thought i hid it pretty well until 2 random people in the same day said "are you ok?" it really has me concerened because i dont wanna portray myself life this. Are there breathing techniques, anchoring, mental things i can do or something?

Here's a breathing technique: Take a deep breath for five seconds, hold it for five seconds, let it out over five seconds, wait five seconds, repeat while thinking happy thoughts.

A psychologist once told me to do that when I got really nervous or stressed about something. It was later concluded that my blood pressure usually shot through the roof when I did that... so I stopped. lol

I can't really imagine it being a problem with most people... it's supposed to *calm you down*... it doesn't work with me. Knowing that I am needing to control my breathing to calm myself down reminds me that I'm losing control, and it continues to spiral out of control. Most of the time I'm able to control it just by figuring out the way my mind works. Kinda hard to explain. Dunno.

You did say "hide". If you are in situations that produce stress and want to conceal it, try working mock stress situations with a trusted collegue or in front of a mirror. Some situations bring stress and you describe flight or fight reactions. They can actually help you deal, but not if you can be read.

Yep. Make everyone else as uncomfortable as you are and nobody will notice you anymore. :D

Only you can figure out what's causing your anxiety. Google 'causes stress anxiety' and do some reading. Probably need to know that before deciding how to lower it.

Go into the bathroom and touch yourself. You'll feel refreshed when you come back out.
