what are Touches in soccer training?

OutHouse

Lifer
my daughter just called and her new coach has them doing nightly home work of 500 touches. So i said good you need the practice while not knowing what the hell touches are. so what are they, juggling the ball?

Hmmmm...since your a yank I'd presume so.

In England they are called 'kick ups'

A 'touch' is normally the first time you control the ball. Usually with the instep of your foot, chest, head or other parts of your body. You can use your shoulder but not your arm to control the ball also.

MAKE sure she RUNS IN TO SPACE and plays balls in to SPACE for people to run on!

Nothing more crazy then a bunch of kids grouping together around the ball like sheep!

When I was elementary aged, I was in a Soccer League called 2000 touches. The guy who started the league turned out to be a pedo. Irony.

more than likely where she has to switch putting her feet on top of the ball.

either ^^ or juggling...probably above...just make her dribble a ball around the house, much more valuable

a touch is any part of your body hitting the ball.

tap-tap-tap-tap...tap-tap-tap... "Dad, I'm bored!... tap-tap-tap

500!

"OK honey, go to bed, it's midnight!"

It's either alternating toe touches on top of the ball or moving the ball side to side with the instep. The ball should either stay stationary with toe touches or move just side to side with the inside touches. Either way you are staying in one place.

We yanks call that a trap.

good first touches are one of the best ways to throw off defenders when in close proximity

<-- loves football (the real one) 😉
