What are those little red spider-like things I see all over my deck?

are you talking those really small orange-ish insects that get crushed when as soon as you touch them? when i used to sit on the front porch in the summer, i'd kill as many as i can with my finger and my fingertips would be all orange.

chiggers are much smaller than what you are seeing. they are not chiggers. i have them on my deck as well but i dont know what they are called.

Be carefull - Babylonian Crotch Crabs start small like that but grow as big as Snow Crabs when they reach the promised land.
