They named it that way probably so they could copyright/trademark the name instead of using a common name which would have led to more legal issues.

I'm guessing it has something to do with trademarks... job box is a combination of two common English words. JoBox is a made up word.

We just call them the gang box or tool box, JoBox is a brand name, Greenlee makes very good ones too.
