I am using win ME. I suddenly find there are 4 or 5 unknown files in the root directory of my C:,and D:
their names are strange:they are ffastun.ffl,ffastun.ffa,ffastun.ffo,ffastun0.ffx.
Pls tell me where these files come from and can delete them without causing serious problems?
Thanks

Microsoft Fast Find Indexes. Go to Control Panel, Fast Find. Delete the indexes located for all drives, then Close and Stop Fast Find. Go to the StartUp folder on the Start Menu and delete Fast Find.

No harm done, since no one uses Fast Find. It's a memory and resource hog.

Thank you guys.
But here comes another problem. I find that there is a process named hgcctl95 in the memory when I press ctrl + DEL +ALT. What the hell is this?
When I try to close it , the windows tell me there is no reaction with this pocess. After I close it handy, it seems there is nothing wrong with the system.
So, Is there any way to get rid of it forever.
Thanks

Hrmm.. well... not sure but is msconfig still found in WinME? If it is just goto Start>Run>msconfig and then checkout the startup tab and uncheck the path which links to it.
That is considering that msconfig is WinME (I only use 2K and 98SE)
