My girlfriends parents occasionally buy her a bunch of meat, which she then turns to me to cook. This time around, in addition to some steaks, we got some seafood. One of the oddly wrapped items turned out to be these gargantuan crab legs. At least I hope they're crab legs, because if they're not, I don't want to know what they came from.

As you can see in this picture, they are pretty large:

The pot behind them is the biggest pot I own.

Anybody know how I would go about cooking these things? And what type of crab are they from?

So, is that all they bought? That will feed a small child but that's about it.

Of the crab legs, yes.

We also got quite a lot of other meat.

Yeah...that's enough crab to use it as maybe a side dish...now way for a main.

You can boil them to re-heat if you life. Snap them into smaller pieces, drop them into boiling water...and you're golden.

They are DEFINETLY pre-cooked, as is all crab. They are like lobsters in the respect...you wouldn't tear the legs off a live crab and freeze them...they need to be cooked.

DO NOT MAKE A CRAB SALAD. The only way to eat king crab is with either a little butter, or my personal favorite: Ketchup+Mayo+Worstcheir (sp?) sauce.

Thanks... I think we're going to cook one of the larger steaks and have a crab leg each. I personally like butter + lemon or butter + garlic with my crab :)
